I have transferred WearyTravellerMSP's question into the established thread on targeted thread discussing targeted offers for personal USA-issued Platinum cards. It's noteworthy if the targeted offers have started to drift down to the 50k level.
It's probable that a member with the handle WearyTravellerMSP is located in the USA, and there are no referral offers for USA-issued cards.

The answer is yes. Got a mail sent to my address intended for previous owner offering 100K points for business card. But it requires $10K spend in 3 months vs. $3k spend for the personal card offered to my spouse. Also it misses some of the benefits offered to personal card, e.g. companion ticket.

Wife Got Incredible Offer!
Hi All,
My wife just received an amazing 100,000 point offer for the Platinum card in the mail. I have never opened a card in her name, she has always been an additional cardholder on my primary accounts.
So if we apply for the offer, and then I open a gold card, could we link the two membership reward accounts?
Any other sticking points if we opened the platinum in her name?
Thanks!

I have added your report to the established thread discussing these offers.
No, each individual has a separate Membership Rewards account, but you can transfer points from your MR account to her frequent flyer accounts and vice-versa.

What is the spending requirement for the targeted offer? The Business Gold typically requires $10,000 spend to qualify for the 50,000 point bonus, if I recall correctly.
