CORRECT! I have used the "breakfast" voucher at Cafe Bellagio since its a 24 hour place and there is no set "breakfast time" .... breakfast could be any time

Also, how's the room renovation progress at Four Seasons ? have they began yet?
You can certainly eat at the buffet -- all one restaurant so you can order a la carte or get the Saturday/Sunday buffet. My experience/recollection is that the credit should be enough for two -- as long as no alcohol; you can just pay thd delta.

I have the same question about room and lobby renovations. Anyone know the status?

They refused to do it this time even after a manager told me to do it that way to get a better value. Went all the way to the hotel manager, who basically called me a liar. I won't be staying at the Bellagio anymore. It was very disappointing.
I used to go to Bellagio until I booked them once with FHR.

Denied the upgrade because I was in a suite ("We don't upgrade suites.") Were snooty about it.

Last FHR booking to Vegas, the Venetian had severely watered down the benefits.

Much better to just pay with the lowest possible rate provider, and buy what you want to use, instead of gambling for upgrades and getting $14 vouchers that force you to eat in a specific place.

FHR is really losing it, and especially in Vegas it seems. Vegas is still whining about the effects of "the economy" but they seem to be raising prices and cutting back on this particular program... acting like they don't need the business I guess.

I posted a story about my $27.00 bagel breakfast at Venetian a while back.

I don't even bother booking anything with FHR anymore, it's the furthest thing from my mind. Much better off using hotel status and booking directly with the hotels.

tyberius, can you elaborate a bit more on your decision to not go through fhr? do you typically find better rates booking directly? i have not used fhr yet but it seems like the occasional upgrade and especially the free breakfast/$100 food/spa credit seem quite alluring.

I was quoted quote a cheap rate through FHR for the Bellagio (about $200 less then the web rate).

Vegas FHR rates are generally the same or better than the hotel websites. In Vegas, gambling loyalty programs are much more highly valued than something like FHR. For non-significant gambling guests, my take is:

Bellagio gets so many well-off one-time visitors (if you're in your 40s/50s/60s) and doing your first trip to Vegas, most folks go Bellagio anyway (Ocean's 11, etc. etc.). So, the hotel probably doesn't view FHR as all the important of an enticement.

Venetian for whatever reason really skimps on their benefits and wedges you into an inflexible program. That's the one major place on the Strip where I have never stayed.

I think the Four Seasons and MO are better deals (non-casino hotels by the way) and get you better treatment (although limited upgrades on weekends at the Mandarin), and I've been treated well at both The Hotel and the Wynn.

A general comment on Bellagio vs Venetian.

I show this to people in person when I take them around to the casinos too.

I appreciate quality in much of my travel experience. Visit Bellagio and note the marble floors from Italy and the real marble columns around the casino and common spaces. Then go to the Venetian and knock on the faux marble columns - metal tubes painted to look real.

That's a perfect example of why I choose Bellagio.

Now, this cut back in the FHR program isn't making me very happy, since we use it annually there, but I had a less than great room experience when we tried it at THE hotel at Mandalay Bay a few years ago - so I may have to relook at the property options again.

To circle back on my previous post, apparently, and I don't know if this is new, the Wynn TS Execs are not part of the FHR contract, so they don't have an FHR rate nor amenities and hence not subject to an upgrade. Sounds like you can be upgraded into an Exec while there is no real way to upgrade into a Parlor. You would think, move over to Encore for TS->Parlor, but the Encore TS checkin staff seem to be skimpy with upgrades?:

The clerk checking me in gave her a death stare and begrudgingly upgraded all 3 to parlor suites. If the new clerk hadn't shown up, I would have been stuck in regular tower suites.
I've stayed at Encore as well and seemed like there was no flexibility on room choice on checkin (stuck us on a low floor), granted we had a specific room type and it seems like the # of rooms is smaller on the Encore TS side. Still, overall Wynn FHS do get treated well, and judging by comments in this thread, better than most LV places. I'm just focusing on Encore TS room flexibility/upgrades.

Although I have not booked Bellagio under FHR, I have shied away from that property in general. Front desk never seemed too helpful upon checkin and just never heard good things about upgrades there. More importantly, there are so many room types (deluxe, resort deluxe, partial lake view deluxe, tower deluxe, etc...) that a room upgrade, I'm guessing, is mostly just a higher floor or view. And with the above quote, you are not going to see the Salone Lakeview Suite, which I've stayed in and is not really a suite but just a larger corner room (actually very nice) but nonetheless called a suite and I guess unavailable for upgrade. If they would upgrade from the 'deluxe' rooms to the salone rooms, that would be worth it...

The Bellagio will not upgrade you to a suite from a deluxe room nor will they upgrade you to a better suite if you book a suite to begin with.

THEhotel Mandalay Bay

Stayed for 2 nights last week and paid the same rates as the hotel's website.

Booked TheSuite which is the entry level room and got an upgrade to THE H Suite on the 62nd floor with a lovely view of the strip.
Benefits included:
Late checkout till 4pm, offered and used
$20 per person per day breakfast credit in THE Cafe - used on 2nd day and just about covers breakfast with tax but not tip.
$100 spa credit not used.

All the benefits were explained to us at check in.

Great stay, though the despite being so high up there was still a little issue with noise from the night club and the aircon was pretty loud, however it was not so loud I could not sleep through it.

vegas, bellagio

-got upgrade to lake view (heard it's $60 if you pay for it) for second and third night
-got $85 credit for lunch in olives, which beats the alternative $100 spa credit since everything on the menu is like $200+
-got breakfast vouchers, worth $16 each, with 4 choices of restaurant.
-early check in at noon and late check out at 4pm.
-note that resort fee is still charged, but that's cool cause you get with it free internet, valet parking, pool access, gym, etc.

would recommend!

THE Hotel has always waived the resort fee and they will tell you that at check-in. If they don't just mention it when they have you sign the form at check-in and they'll take it off. THE Hotel is probably my favorite place to stay in Vegas because they are quite generous with the FHR program.

Upgrade from Wynn Encore Panoramic Suite?

There is a decent price on the FHR site for this room and I am wondering what the upgrade might be? Also, is there a fee for using the spa & fitness center at the Encore (other than the $25 resort fee)? Lastly, did I read somewhere that if you book in the Encore Tower there is no resort fee?
