Looking for "recent" LV hotel FHR experiences in the last 60 days or so.

If you could provide what hotel you stayed at and the perks you received, that would be great ( also, a number of the FHR perks indicate $xxx for spa credit - not a spa person, so would like to know if you had any success in negotiating for a meal or other credit of some type].

Upgrade success - and from what type of room to the upgrade room.

If you did the spa, what did you get without paying more?

Last 60 days? Can't help much - stayed at the Mandarin Oriental. Did not get a room upgrade; did not use the spa credit or try to negotiate it away; all breakfast charges (except tip) were taken off.

Over the years, I've stayed at the 4 Seasons, Bellagio, Wynn and the Hotel on FHR and never tried to vary the benefit (although I believe at the Bellagio you have a choice between Olives and the spa - I took the spa).

I would note that I wasn't a spa person before getting into FHR - but have really enjoyed the benefit at The Hotel and Bellagio.

The Venitian has $100 dinner or lunch credit. I just booked a stay there with FHR for the end of Feb. Also, they told me the daily breakfast is room service breakfast each morning.

Be careful at the venetian with your expectations. I have experienced FHR at V, Bellagio and Wynn and the V ranks dead last by a mile.

Breakfast menu is fixed and NOT impressive. Better spread at HI Express.

Wynn is $20 credit per person for breakfast each day and a $45 lunch credit per person once.

Bellagio is a $20 breakfast credit and a $85 lunch credit at Olives (very good) or a $100 spa pass.

I went to Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas early 2010 and November 2010. For my November visit (as OP is looking for "recent" LV hotel FHR experiences in the last 60 days), I Booked Strip View, got the Premier.

I did not try to convert $100 spa credit to meal credit as girlfriend got spa treatments. I think the spa at MO is quite expensive as I ended up paying $120 extra (the total was $220 for spa treatment alone just for her). I am not quite sure how much one would have to pay at other hotels' spa treatment so I really cannot comment...

Yes, I am not expecting much for breakfast and I assumed its fixed. But if I dont have to leave my room and wait in line, then that is fine with me. I chose the Venetian because I didnt want the spa credit like most of the other FHR properties have.

Booked my parents in at THEhotel last week for 3 nights (they are supps on my UK Centurion account) - $124/nt for TheSuite (which was $5 more than the lowest rate I could find online but obviously didn't have the following extras):

$30 per day per person credit for breakfast
4pm late check-out, not they needed it
$100 spa credit, which they used.
No upgrade available apparantly, should have been up to a VSuite.

They were very happy though, as the room they got was still huge ~750sqft.

The breakfast is a basket of bad rolls/muffins. We ended up throwing ours across the room at each other. You'll end up going out for breakdast.

haha, good to know so I don't expect too much when it does come. But it is Vegas, so after a long night of gambling/drinking I am usually not in the mood to eat much breakfast anyway, that is if I wake up by breakfast.

I've stayed recently at the Bellagio with a FHR booking. I highly recommend it. I've booked everything from a regular room to a penthouse through FHR. I've been upgraded from a deluxe (base) room to a fountain view everytime without asking. Last tome I got a junior suite (which is a corner room with 2 windows). Stay before that I booked a penthouse and got upgraded to a hospitality suite (~2600 sq ft) without asking. It was on a lower floor without a view so not really sure it was better. The breakfast consists of 2 $20 vouchers that I use for the breakfast buffet, which it covers completely for 2 people. You also get either a $100 spa credit or $85 for lunch at "Olives" which is good. It's tough for 2 people to spend $85 there. Always have gotten 4 pm checkout although seems someone forgets to tell housekeeping sometimes and they knock on the door at about 11:30. Overall I enjoy staying at the bellagio and would recommend it.

I've stayed at Bellagio and Wynn (Encore, actually) under FHR and really preferred Encore. I booked a tower suite room for around 250 and was upgraded to a parlor, which is a spectacular room. The breakfast/lunch benefit is great as well. You can use the buffet (best in town for breakfast) or table service. Also, breakfast credit was 30/day per person and leftover balances have always just been applied to my final bill as a credit (not supposed to).

Bellagio was half the price (~130/night) but it sure felt like it. Buffet for breakfast was mediocre with bad service, long wait for seating right at opening (hostesses complained about servers not showing up on time, like I care). Lunch at Olive's was good but I prefer having a choice at Wynn/Encore. Room was an "upgrade" to the spa tower which is far from the fountains and felt like a time machine to the 90s. However, Bellagio definitely has spectacular common areas and the casino seems way more active.

FYI, the FHR website now lists the Wynn "special" benefit as a spa credit instead of lunch, which would be a major devaluation of the FHR benefits from my perspective (it's how I justified the higher room rate).

I would be curious to know if anyone has stayed recently that had the spa credit as the benefit and was able to negotiate a Food & Beverage credit instead.
I just booked this for March and wouldn't utilize the Spa Credit at all, but could certainly use something toward a lunch or dinner bill.

If you gamble even remotely, just avoid FHR and Las Vegas. If you play, and and by no means do you have to be a big gambler, the casinos will generously comp you meals. I recently lost 5k in Vegas, and since I made a reservation with FHR, the hotel wouldn't pick up my hotel rooms as they were booked by a travel agent (i.e. American Express). I was therefore stuck with $1,200 worth of rooms that would have been free. Even worse, the casino host said, "Why did you book through American Express, if you even called us and said you like to gamble, we would have beaten their rate without any verification." For the record, I am not a big time gambler. Just call a casino host and say you gamble at a nearby casino.

Not saying you can't get a good deal with FHR, just keep that in mind. Went to Vegas in August and was pleasantly surprised with AMEX finally providing something for the value of the card.
