AAdvantage Account "Zeroed"

Because of the legacy nature of the PSS (Passenger Service System) used by AAdvantage, AA has traditionally done some major batch processing on Saturday nights and into some Sundays, occasionally beginning Frupiday. Accounts can also be "zeroed" out occasionally during IT maintenance periods. This is common and has occurred for years, due to the legacy nature of the AAdvantage software. AA runs batch processing, often on weekends. Everything will ultimately reset properly; it's merely an inconvenience, not anything to become concerned about.

● Sometimes a message shows: "Your monthly AAdvantage summary is currently being processed. Please note that, due to lags in processing time, the latest summary may temporarily not appear creating a gap in your mileage information."

● "I can not see my account" - it says "This feature is temporarily unavailable. We apologize for this inconvenience. Please try again later."

● "My miles show zero!", "I am missing xyz" (where xyz = stickers, Miles, EQD, etc.) and similar issues.

It has been normal for account information to be unavailable for periods of time, usually Saturday night and Sunday. June 9 was apparently an unforeseen event, the predicted four day outage from Web Services did not occur. Members' miles and 500 mile upgrades numbers have now been restored.

/Moderator

The Announcement has been modified to reflect the current state of the event, and is programmed for deletion midnight Friday June 10.

Thanks JDiver...^ Just checked my account and it seems as if my account is back to normal.

My sarcasm was implied by the ellipsis, but I guess that was too subtle

Strange...

All seems normal with my account; except, my “home” airport on AA.com is JFK; however, today on 3 separate occasions my departure airport was listed as “WTC.” Anyone else experience this?

Safe Travels

(Don’t need to be signed in. If I close my browser (safari) and reopen it to AA.COM, “WTC” appears in the departure airport. )

Yeah. It would also be highly unethical. Well, I'm glad it's all taken care of. June 9 just needed a little kick. Otherwise boring day.

If I'm logged in, the default airport is correct, but if I haven't yet logged in, it shows DFW. Is this a cookie?

Must be, but there is no reason that my cookie should come up as “WTC.”
...Can't duplicate the issue at home on my Mac.

AAdvantage System Maintenance 6 July 2011

Has anyone else noticed this? AA is doing maintenance until 11:30 PM CDT.

While you can log in to your account and see your mileage balance, all other data - including recent activity, EQM/ EQP/ RDM is temporarily (hopefully!) reset to zero. Not a great sight if you're using AA's iPhone app, which does not have a message about system maintenance!

Aadvantage account summary

I happened to wake up early this morning and check aa.com for my flight in the afternoon. To my surprise, in my summary all the miles were wiped out, all zeros. Hope it just a glitch, anyone else see this? Thanks

yep, same thing happened to me -- top left screen shows my total miles (accurate, i think), but in the main page summary section is shows zeroes for current, december, etc -- which is definitely incorrect, and inconsistent with my last statement. must be a technical glitch -- it certainly scared me though.

How odd. Oh wait, no it isn't. Happens every month. And people post about it every month

(Search term {"zero"})

Cheers.

It has been normal for account information to be unavailable for periods of time, usually Saturday night and Sunday. And so it has been for many years.

My miles are there. But I am currently showing 2,288 segments completed this year. That just so happens to be the number of miles I flew yesterday.

When can I expect my new EXP card?

And out of curiosity, what's the most segments ever reported here for a year?
