1/7 evening - AUS-DFW-DTW - Both segments cleared the day before. ~T-27
1/9 evening - DTW-DFW-AUS - Both segments cleared the day before. ~T-27. Waitlist was 20+ for DTW-DFW and 36 for DFW-AUS. One cleared at the gate on each flight.

Day after Xmas 788 MIA/LAX one seat open and I'm number one on the list using a SWU. Cash upgrades were going for over $2,600. Cleared at the gate after needing to wait for a cushion to be replaced.

BTW, apparently now if you apply a SWU the upgrade offer will still show. If you choose the offer you will get a warning that the SWU will be unapplied.

1/12 DFW-MIA ExPlat 400k rolling. 20 on waitlist, #1and cleared 5 minutes before boarding. 2 and 3 are a couple and only one seat is left…waiting for the excitement. (To use BA Forum vernacular, SWMBO got the seat)

1/12 MIA-SXM 8 on the list, 0 cleared.

Question about C space and SWU availability:

Upcoming flight RDU-PHX shows SWU availability in booking app (I know… very poor use of SWU, but I have some expiring soon).

Called EXP desk to apply SWU and they said no space available. I checked EF and confirmed 0 C space.

Most likely yes. Although there is the chance that in between the time you checked the app and called / checked EF someone else grabbed the seat. Is it still showing available in the app?

Yes, it is still showing as available in app, but 0 in EF. I had the desk waitlist SWU, so we’ll see what happens.

Yes, that is correct. However, I noticed for an upcoming trip that when the domestic leg associated with an waitlisted international leg clears as a comp upgrade, the offer disappears. I reached out to the chat line and they couldn’t see anything either. My guess is that they didn’t code for this scenario.

Re-booked (which saved me a few dollars) and the same offer re-appeared. Ended up taking it as it was very good and used one of my expiring SWUs to confirm into F.

My very first complimentary upgrade, and very much a surprise; I genuinely expected to clear upgrades exactly zero times, being based out of DFW :)

I got a free upgrade from DCA to JFK the other day. Like you, it was totally unexpected as I never expected to ever receive an upgrade. I recently made platinum and currently have 79,000 LPs

After getting 3 in a row RSW-DCA it was back to reality as I was #16 for one seat this past Friday
