I suppose it beats the space-deprived version at JFK where the same check-in agents also are tasked with handling requests.

Here are the current menus. I've had almost everything from the food menu, and nothing is that great. Even if the food was done well, I find the menu uninspiring. IMHO, FFD should always have a steak of some kind (the ribeye at DFW was excellent!), and the chicken fried steak doesn't count...that's essentially a battered and deep fried hamburger, and has little taste.

I think they have the wrong people vetting these menus. They recently had a tasting of the upcoming menu. 8 people, 7 female, 1 male. All appeared to be under 30. That's not the target demographic for FFD, as I understand it.

Drag, man. The quail and the ribeye were the best things going (Krug excepted).

Yup. And the fried oyster entree was excellent as well.

DFW FL(Not FL Dining)-Dec 14, 2019, prior to boarding QR 730.

Review

FOOD-Evidently everyone who is in charge of "food" at the DFW Flagship Lounge either just got out of prison, or off Gilligan's Island if they think this is high end. The Cantina Laredo across from the AC, Chili's, Reata, Popeyes, etc. all have superior food in their trash. The only thing going for it is its "free" (not counting the price of the ticket), to get in.

BEVERAGE-Sub par to: Qantas F and J, JL F and J, BA F and J, CX F and J, RJ, AF, and maybe just a cut above Air Zimbabwe.

AA "Staff"-(at "border control"/check in) I have had warmer receptions from East German border guards and USSR passport control than the ....... "welcoming" staff. In fact it was reminiscent of every Eastern Bloc border crossing I ever made.

FL Staff-Fabulous. They get the idea of Flagship, but just don't have the tools, other than a smile and extra effort.

Not impressive.

I was in the Flagship Lounge for a few hours yesterday and I really rather liked it. I've been to all five FLs and from a space standpoint it's probably my favourite in the system. The staff all seemed really friendly too.

I didn't really have any of the food but enjoyed playing with the Bartesian. I did think it was a bit odd that the feature station was holiday themed! I can't remember if it was turkey thinking back but it was definitely a few weeks late!

I hadn't been through DFW in a while and after sampling the zoo that was the Centurion Lounge I felt like an idiot for not going straight to the FL.

I was in DFW Flagship lounge yesterday afternoon. Good food and drink, nice environment except the coughing guy who would not cover his mouth.

The agent at check in mentioned that is was the first day where they were selling access to FFD (Flagship First Dining) for $150.

I could make that up in Krug, no problem, but unfortunately I had to drive later that evening.

I didn't realize that was officially happening. It's not surprising, given the winter season reduction in outbound F seats.

Seems like better value than a $59 AC day pass if you've got the time and enjoy Krug . Wonder if you can access it without having access to the Flagship Lounge otherwise..

$150!? That's one expensive meal that in no way can the FFD deliver a quality to match the cost.

Is that price just for the FFD? (i.e. for those that have FL access, but not FFD) Or are they now selling access to the Flagship Lounge as well. If so

One could easily get their money's worth in Krug for $150. One bottle retails for more than that, then there's restaurant mark-ups...

That's assuming one places any value on Krug at all. I'd get more entertainment value out of literally lighting that money on fire.

That's why it's subjective. Many do, so each to their own. No one is forcing anyone to pay $150 for FFD access, and if you don't find value in it, well then don't.

+1. There's a unicornian fascination with Krug in the FFP worlds, I have learned.
