This thread was for discussion of the switchover from Bose QC15 to B&O H9i noise reduction headsets on select AA longhaul flights in First and Business classes.

As these B&O headsets have been moved out through the fleet, there’s a new thread for further discussion, etc. relating to the B&O H9i “Beoplay” corded headset here: Bang & Olufsen H9i NR Headset Discussion, Issues (master thread)[

Was surprised at how comfortable the B&O were... Didn't look like it with the ear cup shape (but was okay). And limited pressure on the top of the head. Noise cancelling good enough by the engine on a 321

You are wrong. DAC: Digital Analog Converter. Second most important item when playing a digital source file after quality of the source. Everything uses a DAC since every speaker (ear or loud) uses an analog signal to move the cones. You can have the highest quality source and the best headphones in the world but a poor DAC inbetween will still make a lousy listening experience.

PS the digital tapes you are talking about are DATs. And, still have a place in some professional audio worksreams.

Last Friday AA 183 LAX-PVG and now AA 128 (PVG-DFW) both have Bose.

On the way out I got the new amenity kits. Way back is the old one.

I'd go ^

In the last few weeks I've had 3 flights each with the Bose and B&O and much prefer the former.

The new amenity kits, however, are a sizable upgrade.

They’ve arrived

AA331 JFK/LAX. Here are some shots.
I’ll add my review in a bit. May have to rewatch Avengers.m, for the fifth time?

Bose OGG-DFW but had to ask for them and was handed them like it was contraband and was told keep it secret or else we’ll have to pass them out to everyone (IFE wasn’t working for the whole plane and I just wanted them for noise cancelling purposes).

Yeah, the was for the old amenity kits, not the Bose.

...although the pax in 3G went through 3 of the Bose QCs with the purser before finding a pair that worked.

On AA78, just boarded. No Bose OR B&O at the seats... 🤔🤦🏻.♂️

Probably going to see the Bose handout coming down the aisle shortly...
