This thread was for discussion of the switchover from Bose QC15 to B&O H9i noise reduction headsets on select AA longhaul flights in First and Business classes.
As these B&O headsets have been moved out through the fleet, there’s a new thread for further discussion, etc. relating to the B&O H9i “Beoplay” corded headset here: Bang & Olufsen H9i NR Headset Discussion, Issues (master thread)[

Any photos out in the wild yet? How’s the case? Still collect an hour before landing?

here’s a few. Case is significant larger and seems a little heavier duty. Same procedure for distributing and collecting. Unfortunately audio in my seat wasn’t working so couldn’t test sound quality or noise canceling.

Flew 77W LHR>DFW last week. Bose. Picked up 45 mins before landing.
I have AKG NC60. I travel to Africa and it seemed like a good option IE small and if I lose them for any reason I'm out $150 not twice that or more. I really like them.

I have a couple DFW-LHR R/Ts in the next two weeks. I doubt I'll see the B&O, but I'll report back if so.

AA 234 (SFO to JFK) has the B&O headphones too.
Few thoughts
1.the cord is on the RIGHT side. I personally like this as I sit on the Starboard side 99% of the time (personal preference) and the plug is usually on the right on that side. The old Bose used to have the cord crossing the body
2. There is a switch on the R earpiece. Oddly enough, if you turn it ON, the noise canceling barely works. It works in the OFF position.
I speculate that this is because the one I am using on the 321T receives power from the third prong and the switch connects to a battery (not present). However this is just a WAG as I dont have a non airline B&O unit to compare.
3. The Bose are more comfortable. The perfectly round shape of the B&O doesnt fit my ears.
4. Sound and build quality is good.
in summary, I'm neutral. Definitely feel that these are a solid replacement for the Bose with some better some worse. Unlike most "enhancements" from AA, we actually came out ok on this one.

On AA50 to LHR. Just sat down in J.
No highs, no lows... just Bose.
Not too disappointed, though. The initial reports of the B&O not fitting ears had me a little concerned. So I brought my QC35’s just to make sure I had the extra noise insulation when I lay down to sleep.
