ARCHIVE: All About AA Flagship Check-In at JFK, LAX, MIA, ORD
I just went through the new Flagship Check-in counter at LAX and it was a very pleasant experience. It's a small door located all the way to the east end of American's terminal, with two counters and a very pleasant atmosphere.
It's pretty much a breeze through check in and then you get the elevator up to TSA.
Way to go AA!

<redacted> I've been through LAX several times over the past few months and the new walled off counter was not part of the earlier switches.
I'm wondering how many of the recent changes (moving priority security behind the white walls and the new Flagship also being walled off) came from the throngs of paparazzi who had a habit of congregating at the top of the stairs snapping photos of celebs checking in or going through security? I've been there when they've been chasing after a photo of someone and it's definitely an annoying experience for all passengers.

According to this link its just first class on three class flights, Concierge Key and Five Star. No Executive Platinum, unless you fall into one of the other categories.

Anyone can have access to that Flagship check-in, if they pay for Five Star service. I just looked it up.
That is $125 and includes AC access. $200 for two people.
Not bad. If you were planning on buying an AC day pass anyway, that's an extra $75 to be treated like a celebrity. So, you buy a ticket in Deep Discount Economy and have no elite status, but for $125 you are met at the curb, bypass the lines, get personalized attention and help, get into the AC and are escorted to the gate.

We will leave these two threads separate - the new East Priority Access facility and the Flagship Checkin facility - as separate, cross-referenced threads. Please use the link provided by chanp to access the new East Priority Access thread; in this thread, please discuss the new Flagship check-in facility at LAX ONLY. /Moderator

To be clear - is there a new dedicated flagship security lane, or is it the same priority access security lane as there was before?

So one checks in a dedicated area, then instead of using the escalator, one takes an elevator to the same TSA area where priority access passengers go? Or they go to a different TSA area?

Interesting, this is the first time I've seen Concierge Key referenced on AA.com. I look forward to trying this when I fly LAX-JFK in Z in a few weeks, maybe I'll see some celebs

I only knew about the new check in "room" since I got a call from CK on Friday regarding my flight on Monday and the new procedure. There was a red coat person outside with a list on her hand and checking the names of the passengers.
Since I was the first person to go through it, I chatted with the staff around and they mentioned their desire to expand the service to DFW, MIA, ORD and JFK.
For those that have to go through passport/visa check in international routes, I found to be a great service.
I will try to take some pictures next week and post it here.

Good point. Lots of pesky BA Golds, though
