So if you're going to use it as a backup you won't be able to get the avios back.
Thanks. At least it's only 7500Avios+560cents so shouldn't be a biggie.

You can "check-in online". It does not give you a boarding pass, but, rather a document you can print with all the information about your flight. I showed the FCL person the paper. Once she saw Emerald on the paper, she invited us in.

Having said that, I got the feeling I could have just showed the AA FCL person a printout of our itinerary. She seemed more interested in informing me she could not print out the boarding pass.

Looks like the upcoming years will be interesting for AA passengers at JFK.

End of the satellite concourse at T8 and a significant buildout of T8 if the renderings are anything to go by.

Can anyone advise on the approximate connection time from BA1 to an AA flight? Will we have collect our bags in T7 even though we have pre-clearance in SNN?

As long as it does pre-clearance then no need to pickup. You'll arrive as a domestic flight would. No reclear of security, nor claiming of bags.

Great thanks, is there airside connection between T7 and T8 or do we need to landside and AirTrain round to T8?

AirTran. AFAIK No airside link between any JFK terminals except T2 and T4.

Agreed. Just make sure that your bag is properly tagged to your final destination when you check in at LCY. And, yes, you have to take the AirTrain from T7 to T8 and re-clear security.

I read something more that T7 will be torn down, perhaps resulting in the often speculated move of the OW group of airlines over to an expanded T-8. If you look at the eastern wall of T-8 with the painted mural, it always looked temporary.

Our last flight is LAS via LAX but the LAS flight is a separate ticket. Seeing as BA will no longer interline separate tickets, where is best to collect? JFK or LAX?

You're bag will be tagged through to LAX. Since you're a pre-clearance flight there will be no picking up bags at JFK. Also since your ticket doesn't start till LAX you'd have no way to check it to LAS at JFK.

So, you have one ticket SNN-JFK-LAS and a separate ticket LAS-LAX? Then it seems to me the answer is neither JFK nor LAX, but LAS.

OP says LAS via LAX. Either ticket one is to LAX or to JFK. From his first post I assume to LAX.

You are right; I mis-read.
