Have you had any recourse when BE says that someone in your group has been credited to another BE number? I had 2 of 17 travelers in a group this summer, who were associated with another BE number. I was not able to get it credited to our BE account. They were not experienced flyers, non-status on AA and I am 99% sure that they wouldn't even know what BE is.

I had a bunch of BE points that were going to expire, ended up using them to book one leisure award, booked the same flights for my wife using miles. The itinerary was far from desirable, but since it was more than 6 months out, I decided to take the chance, set a series of expert flyer alerts.
When a more desirable routing appeared for the outbound, I called the PLT line, had no difficulty making the change. A desirable routing for the return became available today; after being on hold for more than 10 minutes while the change was being made, the agent claimed that there would be a $150 charge for the BE award, as the rules differ from mileage awards, the first agent should not have made the change.
Does anyone else have experience with this? We are going to try again, at a different time of day, see if that makes a difference.
ALSO: Will I run in to the same issue with a same day standby?

Just hit 10,000 points and trying to decide what int'l first class saver award to redeem for before end of the year when about 1,500 points expire...anyone have any clue if I redeem for a BX7 award to Asia if it'll be good for HKG when that flight comes on line mid-next year? Website only says Japan, China or South Korea, which are obviously the only 3 places AA currently flies its own metal to in Asia. I guess its worth a shot but just curious if anyone had any insight.

Is there a minimum fare that is eligible to earn points? I think it is $250 but I can't seem to find it here or on the AA site.

BE is not about individual members. It is a company thing, so I don't think the status of individuals matter.

When you are traveling, if you are EXP, you will have EXP benefits (international use of FL lounge, same day standby, etc)... Prior to traveling, your EXP status does not affect BE awards, and you will need to abide by the awards, which do have a change fee.

I think that the most valuable redemption is the one that you need or will use. If you need both, then check out the one that has space available for the dates you will use.

What happens if I have a flight on 12/31/13 and also points expiring on 12/31/13? Will I not be able to use the Q4 2013 points this year?

You don't have to request an award before booking.
