I thought about doing the same, but I didn't want to risk misconnecting. There's a slight chance I may still end up there depending on my work schedule. Plus, if there is any fanfare at the gate, I want to make sure I arrive early enough to see it.

Maybe they are loading the seat maps finally. It's disappeared from the AA website. Any changes to the system usually causes the flight or flights to vanish

Just booked DFW-ORD 520pm flight on 5/7 - while not the actual inaugural, am excited to fly the 787 on the first day of commercial service. As of now looks like I'm in 4B but can't pull up seatmap either.

Web Services has no idea either, so I am hoping that's the case. Was told to "keep checking back everyday", to which I replied "I am checking every hour!" lol

Done - I assume you're talking about 2320 outbound (they're both flt 2320).

The reason all windows were taken right away is that AA simply rebooked folks with windows selected on the 32B to windows on the 788.

Now that I've got a seat, just booked on Virgin America from DCA on 6 May and overnighting at the Omni Dallas. Virgin was half the price for F, compared to AA, wow! New plane and a new airline! Time to get back to shoveling!
