Great news. Am I imagining things or has AA previously served SAT from LAX with some form of regional jet?

Last served in 2008 with a daily MD80.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry: BlackBerry8530/5.0.0.1030 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/417)

LAX-YVR for 7,500 BA Avios in Y or 15,000 BA Avios in J, each way.

"Customers have access to even more global destinations through partners British Airways, Iberia, Qantas, Japan Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Pacific and LAN, all of which offer convenient connections from Los Angeles."

Someone should really review the boilerplate text at the bottom. MH no longer serves KUL-NRT-LAX.

I believe LAX-YVR was a CP route in the rather short period when AA and CP were partners... before CP went under.

Just a matter of time for MCI and OMA, IMHO.
The TPA service replaces a route that will soon be discontinued (announcement forthcoming). OMA and MCI are not gonna happen, sorry. YVR, YEG, SAT to be operated by US CR9s.

Actually, CP Air flew YVR-LAX independently back in the day with DC8s, 727s and 737s long before they hooked up with AA. Also, CP Air (which by that time was Canadian Airlines International) did not "go under"; they were acquired by Air Canada via a merger.

LAX-YVR on a CR9?

LA to Vancouver is a highly valuable route due to Hollywood ties with British Colombia. They at least need a 738 for this route.

Perhaps they don't want to anger AS or WS.

It's also a highly-competitive route with nonstop service by AC, AS, UA, and WS.

Well, to be correct it's AC Rouge service - their "low cost" carrier. For fun, go read the threads on the AC board about that move.
