Post #1 asked a question which was easily answerable with even the most rudimentary search.

It's amazing that such a long thread could develop after that, for no apparent reason. You just gotta love it.

Yes, amazingly enough it is designed for airplanes, and you will be in one. It will not charge the battery at all but will run it. Which of course is all explained at the Apple Store website where you buy it along with user testimonials.

120 approacheth.

Thanks for the input. I just want to confirm with the fellow travelers.

The best source is really the Apple site, they seem quite positive on it though $60 for a wire and no transformer just to get the magsafe plug is criminal.

I'd just like to chime in and confirm that you have every right to confirm.

Let's place a side bet. Of the eventual 120 posts, how many will actually contain useful information? I'm guessing 5. My guess might be high.

oh ye cynical ones: new questions...
how come UA has the regular prong? that works without an adapter/inverter?... Will AA eventually go in this direction(i.e., what about the new J seats?-- still cigarette style?)? I'm sure this has already been covered...but 120 posts is a goal of sorts...thank you ice trojan for your patience...

We are 1/3 the way there.

I thought UA has Empower plugs.

Cows moo. (Actual fact to preserve thread's sanctity).

I hope we all learned a valuable lesson from this thread. We wanted this thread to go to 120 posts. Everything was rockin' along just great, until ricktoronto posted a fact, which killed the thread. C'mon everyone: TEAMWORK! Let's get that 120! And remember .. No More Facts!

I used it for a Toshiba the first two years, and the last two years with the Dell, and never a problem. I did a quick search and here's a link to see what it looks like:

Most of the problem posts we've seen about AA power ports seem to relate to laptops that draw more than 75 watts. Have you checked to see what your Dell needs?

Tom in San Francisco tonight
I also have a Dell 700m and was thinking about purchasing this inverter. Does it power and recharge or is it power only?

It does both, as that Dell model only draws 65 watts.
