Smile SEA-BOS $300ai for 12880 EQM

Good route from the great NW (boring, true, but effective!):
SEA-DFW-BOS-DFW-SEA
Easy turnaround if you don't mind the red-eye (my preference for transcon MRs) yields 6440*2=12880 EQM for $300ai most of January. Slight variation for a couple of difference routes, but all within a couple of hundred miles of each other.

Could technically start from 0 for year and fly 2 of these a week in January and be XP for 2013. Total cost about $2400.

Great! Then it is now
10560 + 1235 + 1745 = 13540 EQM

--> ~1.95 cpm

Traditionally there is a BA/AA fare sale starting around Christmas, which usually has some of the lowest fares.

Hi guys new to the forum and this whole "maximizing miles" thing but I have one, hopefully quick question about this promotion and a potential trip.

If I book from ORD-LAX-ORD on a Q ticket ($230 total) and have platinum status is the EQM calculated as 50% of miles *100% for platinum*4 for doubling up on the promotions? Therefore:

3,692*(50%)= 1,846 + 1,846 + 5,538 for a total of 9,230?

Thanks! And sorry if this is the wrong spot for this post

EQM is normally 100% on AA metal for revenue tickets regardless of booking class. Platinum gets you no extra EQM (but does get you extra RDM). *and* I see 3490 for your flight, not 3692. So if AA really does let us double-dip on these promos, it should be 10470 EQM (and RDM, after platinum bonus).

BA board is predicting their sale starting on 22 December (same as last year). AA will probably follow the trend either the same day or the next day at the latest. I'm holding on to see what's available then.

Try LHR-JFK-LAX-SFO which you can usually get for the same fare as more direct routes. 2 of those will get you PLAT.

I just booked SEA-DFW-STL-DFW-SEA for $240 ai, same day turn so no overnight, no red eyes either, 8836 miles (2.7 cpm)--and I was able to avoid the 6 AM flight to boot. Due to a short-term change in work travel, I'll be holed up in London for most of the first half of next year, so won't be able to do much qualifying on my own--can't turn down a good chance to get a head start!

I remember those days! My first AAdvantage number was my EAAsySabre login...

Unless there is a SEA-STL promotion I haven't heard about, you're overestimating your RDMs. The system wide DEQM doesn't give any extra RDMs, so as an EXP/PLT you would only get 8,836 (base+100%).
