I’m assuming these planes will be put on FRA, JFK, LAX, and maybe ORD or SFO routes. I wish they would release more info about this even if it’s in the future. I was hoping the first flight would bring another news release. I’m also curious if these routes will all based be out of HND too.
Anyone else have any guesses on new routes?

As mentioned before, currently only US route with 212 seats is the JFK, so I doubt we will see them on LAX/SFO/ORD unless NH refurbishes the old planes with more than 212 seats.

Yes I expected some more bloggers fly the new planes .... while first isn’t such a big update compared to business it still looks nicer than before (doors, huge screen and the divider between middle seats much better for couples). Well is was a surprise announcement so I guess we have to wait a while until people can fly on the new planes

Other than having a smaller TV, the F seat on the A380 seem pretty comparable to the new F seat on the 777. FWIW, here are a couple of reports (and an associated video):

Anyone feel like making a stickied post at the top to track retrofitting?

Seems that up to 792A the aircraft has the old configurations.
793A and after seems to have the new configurations; evidence comes from the number of windows between the door 1 and 2.
Will the current aircrafts go through retrofit?
Also the plan is getting 6 frames up to JA798A.

Amazingly how much focus that video has on buttons, and not on showing the actual seat
However, it does seem to be made from the same base as the Q Suite. I think I would prefer the narrower seat with the storage room on the side in the Q Suite. Though the video annoyingly does not show the full aspects of the seat.

What we don’t know is whether refitted frames will have 212 seats or more.
Btw, seems like JA793A flew to LHR on 11th, so they are going daily a little bit sooner than announced.

Flew into Tokyo on the new configured a few days ago. I can confirm that the seat is wider than the Q Suite.
Being a 6ft male, the length of the seat is longer than the IOJ cabin, though I would have liked it to be a little bit longer.
Nonetheless, because the seat is wide, you can sleep in the foetus position, or diagonally.
The new seat has low resilience padding by Nishikawa (think Tempur) which eliminates the need of the thick pas provided in the IOJ seats.
The highlight of the seat has to be the 2 step automatic window blinds!
