Yup I'm interested too. Have a late Oct flight in J for Chicago to Tokyo and then a Tokyo to New York flight in November. I'm not optimistic but maybe it could happen on the New York route by November if that's the next route they focus on. Then again I'm still waiting on SQ to upgrade their NY-SIN planes.

SFO-NRT in F in late November for me. Also not optimistic since the flight is shorter than those from the east coast. Hopefully we get an idea of the rollout plan soon.

Going by the window configuration I think they already have 4 aircraft with this cabin: JA793A, JA794A, JA795A, and JA796A. Three of them appear to be in storage.

This may have changed in the meantime but at least up until 4-5 years ago foreign carriers were not allowed to fly new aircraft to the US until 6 months after delivery. Yes, even Boeing aircraft. If this rule is still in place and they're not retrofitting any older aircraft at the moment then it'll be another few months before the US gets the new cabin. They had 2 deliveries in March so that would be September at the earliest. Why they're not using them for FRA then I don't know.

ANA took delivery of their first A380 on March 20, 2019, and the aircraft was in service to Hawaii by May 24, 2019. I'm not familiar with that particular rule, but I think that occurrence would demonstrate that it may no longer apply.

Good point! I hadn't thought of that. I don't know the origin of the rule but got the info directly from the chief technical pilot of a European airline.

No, like I wrote above I don't know the origin of it. The people in charge of accepting new aircraft at the Boeing factory told me so I believed them.

Looks like seat reclines into a flat bed? (Two pics show the head pillow positions, looks consistent to be a reclining flat bed)

Y is 3-4-3/2-4-3... PE is 2-4-2. Y/PE is same product as new 787-10 , which was really nice

UA does 3-4-3 across entire Y, I guess NH is slightly better
Phew. My fears have been put to rest.. It does recline.

NH has had 3-4-3 on a number of their 77W for a long while. The original shell seats were 2-4-3 but that was densified on their later deliveries to 3-4-3. Guess all planes will now end up with 3-4-3

Will be flying F IAH-NRT-IAH in late May 2020...any wild guesses whether the updated cabin will be rolled out to that route by then?

That video was a bit jarring. Sure, it shows us what the cabin will look like, but the only thing not CGI were the actors composited onto the rendered cabin.

I had to laugh at the guy watching tv in J, right after the woman who's working on her laptop. The seat is down to the flat position and his back is leaning into some invisible back rest because there's a gap between his back and the plastic wall behind him.

The released seat map is for the high J version with 212 seats and F/J/PY stretching all the way to door 4. Compared to the current high J version, they loose 8J seats and gain 8 Y by going 3-4-3.

Slight correction but after the 3-4-3 planes NH actually took delivery of more 77Ws that were 2-4-3 (JA790A, JA791A, and JA792A, all high-J with 68J / 112Y) — there was some talk of keeping 3-4-3 only for West Coast flights (and IAH) and 2-4-3 for the rest, and the deliveries of the 3 77Ws in 2015 with 2-4-3 gave us some hope, but looks like that's no longer the case

Interesting, did not know that. Did the newer 2-4-3 also come with shell seating, or the newer reclining model?

I have seen 3-4-3 on Frankfurt and London as well. Not sure if they were subbed.
