Last night I had a dream that I was buying an AS flight and they offered discounts if you were willing to parachute out of the plane at certain points in the flight path! I got my ticket and boarded, the plane was as big as a cruise ship inside. And when the time came for me to "deplane" they escorted me to the door, the captain said "We appreciate your business" and gave me the thumbs-up. Last thing I recall was being startled awake from the falling sensation!
No idea what prompted it - I had been looking at some AS flights. It's funny what your mind conjures up in dreams!

Can't fool me, Eastbay1K. That is clearly for Customer Care to respond to pax complaints. From there it is transmitted via telex, then transcribed into an email message.
ETA: notice how the "k" is jammed? Clearly from the agent jamming it in frustration after starting to write "Thank you" at least twice per message.

Hello all, newbie here introducing myself! 👋
I live in Seattle and got the Alaska Airlines credit card right before the pandemic started. I have really enjoyed flying AS. have never had elite status on any airline, but this year I am trying to get MVP, maybe even MVP Gold (with all the great advice on this forum I might be able to swing that).
My first flight of 2022 will be DCA-SEA tomorrow.
I am curious about the hype over lounges and whether a lounge membership would be worth it for me! I may need to get a day pass to try one out.
Looking forward to chatting more with y’all and learning from you!

As for whether it is worth it - that is up to you. I bought myself a membership as a treat to myself and I love having a nice place to relax and have a drink or a snack before a flight. Whether it is worth the money is another story...

AS does not operate their own lounge at DCA (nor at most airports). The only AS Lounge locations are SEA ANC PDX SFO LAX and JFK. If you have a full AS Lounge membership then you have access to a variety of partner lounges, many of which are AA Admirals Clubs, and a smattering of others, including the United Club at DCA. But AS won't be selling day passes for partner lounges.

Welcome to the "hood" as you can see having a lounge membership is a personal decision I am a long time AS MM'er etc coupled with a lounge membership for 20 years. I have seen the ups and downs of their rooms a few really ugly. Fast forward to the present If you are starting out with AS and plan on a lot of flying then I would suggest getting one, at least for one year these rooms and others have saved me many many times. I have written and talked to a few of the executives at AS asking why not combine a CC with lounge access many of the other carriers do and it makes sense.
Anyway happy flying and please what ever you do don't eat Bob W's Chili !! Its like the old expression don't eat yellow snow
