Having flown with Alaska a few days ago from SFO to DCA (in U, one pulled pork and one omelet), I dropped by the Library of Congress this mid-morning, but was stopped by Capitol Police at Pennsylvania and Second. No, I wasn’t driving a truck. Have rescheduled my timed visit for tomorrow.

another rant about AS IT
scenario: logged in on the full AS website; go to "My Trips" and select a reservation
c'mon, people, this is beyond stupid
- select "Cancel"
- select "Deposit the credit to My Wallet"
- maybe 75% of the time, the system *makes me log in again*
- yesterday I cancelled two trips in succession *and had to log in each time*
c'mon, people, this is beyond stupid

Sharing of banned pax lists; I'm with DL on this one and hope AS would participate.

This isn't about protecting anyone, this is about increasing the punishment for anyone that an airlines puts on its ban list for whatever reason. Legitimate cases are met at the gate by the police, arrested, and then convicted. They aren't going to be flying anyone for a while.
Let's see how many banned on multiple airlines there are first. My guess is far fewer than power tripping FAs and GAs with bad attitudes (which are very very tiny minority fortunately, but like unruly or dangerous passengers, it only takes one to make a bad experience).

I remember when they installed one of those in my High-school. You could call long-distance free of charge but needed a dime to make a local call. Oops!!! DTMF was quite a step up from the rotary dial. "Press 1 for infinite hold!"

Phew. I just unfolded a piece of paper from a recent conference, and lo and behold, that is where I placed the pepper packets (from the lounge) from a previous AS trip. As I was already getting pre-travel anxiety that on my next trip, where I've already ordered the shredded pig bits bowl, that it would once again, not have enough flavo(u)r, and that if I forget to take pepper packets from the lounge, I would be sorry. Now I can rest easier, knowing that I've placed the PPPs* on my luggage.
I do not expect that AS will have upgraded its product to the PPGs** that Emirates used on my recent trip.
