This offer is valid only for Mileage Plan members that held MVP, MVP Gold, or MVP Gold 75K status as of January 1, 2022”

MVP100k wasn’t implemented until the end of Jan 2022, if I remember correctly. So you were probably a 75k until Jan 30, 2022.

From as.com:
if you were unable to requalify for the status you held in 2022, you have a second chance. To earn back your status through December 31, 2023, earn the following number of base flight miles between January 13 and April 13, 2023. Terms and conditions apply. Eligible members will be automatically enrolled in the offer after year-end and will receive an email from Alaska by the second week of January.

Obvious *I* know about this promo and am planning my Q1 travel accordingly, but others who lost their status might look elsewhere for Q1 travel, not realizing that AS is going to offer this way to earn status back.

Is this only to regain old status or can for example MVP75 after dropping to nothing get MVPG by flying 10K?

they keep talking about requalifying for the status of 2022, but then one of the FAQs is this:

I was MVP Gold in 2022 but didn’t requalify for elite status at all in 2023. Can I qualify for MVP via the Fast Track offer?Yes, if you are eligible for the Fast Track to regain Gold status but only fly 5,000 eligible base miles during the promo period, you will receive MVP status through December 31, 2023.
So it seems you can qualify for lower status. I might want to do that to go to MVPG instead of MVPG75K.

I think the dates are pretty set so I made sure to book ahead to take advantage of this upcoming 3-day holiday weekend...the one in February doesn't seem to have as good of deals.

Same question here. Seems like they'd want to incentivize higher spend a bit.. There's a PVR-LAX where the first class fare is ~ $150 more than main (and only $30 more than my outbound!).. If it helps me get my Gold back a bit faster, it's a no brainer. Even if it doesn't, I should prob just do it.. I feel like this will follow the same pattern as a standard status challenge - does that credit bonus EQM for first class?

CoS bonus is not a base mile. It’s a bonus.

I’ve heard X class doesn’t count. But not sure.

Just got my email, but it's not what I wanted. I was MVP Gold in 2021 and 2022, no status for 2023, and the email I got was for fast track to MVP.

Correction: I think they meant any MVP status, not MVP vs MVPG.

*This offer is valid only for Mileage Plan members that held MVP status as of January 1, 2022 that did not requalify for that same status in calendar year 2022. Members who were participating in a status match challenge on January 1, 2022 and did not retain the status are not eligible. This offer may not be used to achieve a higher status than the one held on January 1, 2022. In order to earn back MVP status, you must earn 5,000 base miles. All eligible travel must take place between January 13 to April 13, 2023. A minimum of 2 segments must be flown on Alaska marketed and operated flights. Award travel and bonus miles are not eligible base flight miles. Miles eligible for this offer include base miles earned on Alaska marketed and operated flights, and base miles earned on eligible partner flights. All terms and conditions of the Mileage Plan™ program apply. Offer subject to change without notice.
**Saver fares (booked in X class of service) are not eligible for elite upgrades.
