FYI, AA has completely removed LAX-SYD from sale until Apr 30th, 2022. LAX-HND removed from sale until Mar 27th, 2022. SEA-PVG would never launch. Pathetic.
So now the six eligible routes are down to 3: LAX-LHR, SEA-LHR, SEA-BLR (from Nov 6th).
Guess my upgrade certificate will go to waste then.

Taking the next two weeks for example, every flight except for 1 has multiple C class availability.
SEA-LHR IMO is probably the most widely available out of all the routes

I was looking for advanced purchase way out ahead, and nothing was available. I'm not going to buy a ticket hoping the upgrade will become available close in to the date of travel. This was a month ago, for a flight in October. I ended up just buying the Biz class seat on BA since my calculations showed I would need the EQM to reach MVPG.

And yes, many dates aren't available at booking. Although if you know how to take the right educated guess, you can still clear those upgrades with a very high likelihood IME.

Do these upgrades become available as soon as you qualify as a 75k Gold? Or were they just for people who held that status in April when this offer was made

The initial grant was only to 75Ks who qualified in 2019 and 2020. The rumor is that there might be another grant for 2022.

Just booked ANC-SEA-LHR through AA for December. $754 RT + $134 UK tax once upgraded to J. I thought about leaving from DUB or BCN, but $134 in tax didn’t seem a big enough deal to worry about it. Not complaining about a $888 J RT, that’s for sure.

Any routings out of LAX?
Im worried I won’t be able to use these codes before they expire. Anyone know of ANY decent priced routing that would work in October or November? (which has C space). Dublin and maybe Madrid or Barcelona were good but nothing now??. Im based out of lax so strongly prefer that but could position elsewhere if good value. Thanks!

Since SWUs can be applied to Basic Economy, would these have worked on BE tickets as well?
