Quick Question - "Your tier anniversary is coming up on Tue Mar 29 2011." - I rang Air NZ to ask to see if after that date i will get my 2 x Gold U/G vouchers, however they have told me that i won't until 1st May.
I said that is fine as i am only 54 SP off GE i will probably hit this in April/May, the CSR said to hit GE i must get 54 SP prior to the 29th of March. I asked the Question about SP Expiring this month, not allowing me to get it, and with the SP expiring i would probably then hit GE in MAY, the reply was your 'tier' works on the past 355 days at which point they review to see if you will make GE. So now i am just confused! can anyone shed some light on this (those who have ticked over from GE to GE or G to G (or a combo) hope above help, sometime air nz can be very generous to help (re)qualify status. |
Thanks, with the points expiring and other flights going through i will need 42 SP by the 4th of April and will hit GE in MAY regardless, i suppose it would be nice to hit GE earlier however since there is a limbo month.

Is that 355 day SP life correct? I took a domestic flight Mar 11 and back Mar 14 2010 and checking myairnz on Mar 11 & 14 2011, 12 SP had dropped off each time for those corresponding flights.

My points from FEB/MAR last year expire exactly 12 months after they were flown. I think end of March sounds about right when i hit Gold.

I have always had the understanding that the life of SPs was 365 days, and this was certainly the case when calculating when I was going to hit *G

Yea same with me, so not sure where the 355 has come from....
In any case the difference between 355 and 356 seems to be splitting hairs. If one day makes the difference in tier status, I'm sure NZ would bump a member up. |

I suspect SPs 'live' for 355 days after the day of earning, which is the same as them living for 356 days.

It is 10 days not 1, 365 vs. 355. For the record it is 1 year, 366 for leap years.
