As a black box goes, this at least looks interesting.
How'd it taste?

The new Park menus are up on the AC Signature Service website.
The Breakfast box does look like the clear winner. Disappointing they couldn’t come up with anything better than a Chicken Wrap for the rest of the day.

I liked it as well, although I missed the omelette. But I haven’t eaten 1,200 of them in the past 6 years like some of you.

It's pretty good, but cold. Definitely an improvement over the previous offerings, so I am happy about that. I don't see why they can't go back to hot options, though. They can still serve on a single plate.

AC 116 YVR-YYZ on a 789.
The flap on top of the box folds up, but it's useless for eating. My best guess is that one of these days they'll put a hot tray in that hole.
The dessert was, by far, the worst part of this. The wrap was decent, the bread was too cold, the salad was typical, and the fish pasta salad thing was fine.
Overall, very mediocre.
However, THEY HAVE COKE ZERO. So I'm in heaven. I should have brought some minis.

Thanks for the pics.
I'm flying in the opposite direction (YYZ -> YVR) next week, so the pics definitely help me understand what to expect.
Personally I find it disappointing that AC keeps offering cold meals only...I do not see a single reason they can't offer hot meals in a safe way.

canadiancow - Thanks for the pixs. Although your charcutière shots were better for food porn.
That dessert does look like it impacted the tray from a very great height though.

Doesn’t look too bad, better than my expectation. What’s inside the wrap?

I suspect that on transatlantic routes, the meals for the return sector are pre-loaded when departing from Canada. By doing this, they can temporarily stop using the caterers in Europe.

Perhaps they are double (or even triple/quad) catering each aircraft and reusing uneaten meals? By using these boxes (takes up less space than the oven casseroles and other service equipment such as plates/silverware etc), they can load as many meals they will need for the day in one go at the beginning of each day and unload all the trash at the end of the day. This way flight crew won't have to come into contact with catering staff at each stop.

I can confirm this was the case for the disgusting meals that preceded whatever they are serving now...
