Interesting. Last week on YVR-YYZ there was no beef option on the menu I posted (#2968)

Usually I'm not a fan of AC beef but this time it was particularly good. Crew were great all-around, so no surprise they reheated it well.

AC195 on February 17:

Agreed. Flew AC195 last night and it was actually quite tasty, and the beef was tender. I even enjoyed the hummus with the salad and I'm not a huge fan of hummus!

AC1144 YVR-YUL, 04 March 2017

New (for me at least) niçoise salade that reminded me of the Hawksworth Intl appetizer from July, minus the trout. I have to say I'm happy to see some new appetizers in NA J, seems like for a while they never changed the old salad.

Had the lamb, which was surprisingly good. But not so inspiring presentation, and I still prefer this dish with couscous, like I had sometime back in 2015.

I have to say, from doing 195 dozens of times a year, that it's hit or miss. And when it's a hit it's good! And when it's a miss I make a mad dash for the kit kats.

Just about to push back on AC127 (YYZ-YEG) and the menu is the one-tray-full-meal menu they use for flights under 1500 miles.

YYJ gets the same menu at 2100 miles, as a non-premium long haul service.

At least you're not getting 'Rouged'

I have seen that menu, and the one with chicken with vinegared vegetables + cannelloni, far too many times in the last year. I immediately order a full meal from the back when I see them, as everything on both of those menu is inedible IMO.

Isn't YYZ-YEG considered a PLH route or has that changed recently?

I see that your flight was operated by a E190. That's probably why you got the downgraded meal service.

PLH and E90 are mutually exclusive.

Allow for extra time on departure and head over to the Centurion lounge.
If done right, you won't need the AC one-tray meal.
