And I've had many that couldn't figure the recipe for a 'Rye and Ginger' mostly because they don't know what Rye is and sometimes assume Johnny Walker is an appropriate substitute.

Furthermore today on ICN YYZ they announced the vermouth was out of stock.
Always hit and miss. I've had this reaction too, but on the other hand, I had a perfectly made Negroni recently YVR-YYZ. FA knew exactly what I meant and apologized for garnishing it with a lemon rather than an orange.

Amazing how they put these things on the menu but don't bother to cater the right garnishes to make the drink properly, or train their people on what they are or how make them...watermark 'didn't really try'!

Thanks for the warning. I ordered it twice so far in domestic J, never received it.

I didn't mind it. I would order it over the pasta, and the bbq chicken. Agree it can look unappetizing...

I had a Manhattan (minus bitters) recently on a flight. The FA was surprised at what I was doing, as if she'd never seen anything more complicated than liquor+(standard) mix before.

Which reminds me, I need to get a TSA-approved bottle of bitters, because with bitters and vermouth it might be time to resurrect my favorite thread: Drinks you can make on board

Did anyone try the "Balanced breakfast plate"?
It is time to pre-order a meal for our trip next week and this one unexpectedly showed up.

We are on our way to BGI. My wife is having it now and prefers it to the omelette.

I had breakfast on the ground so I am saving mine for lunch as they only cater breakfast on an 8.30 to 2.30 flight.

The Quesadilla has reared it's ugly head. Beating out the horrific grilled cheese from December.

My son ordered a Negroni from the menu recently. I am pretty sure he had to instruct the FA how to make it. BYOB(itters) sounds like a great plan!

With the recent weather advisories I recently changed a couple of flights. The YYZ-YYC leg I changed to (on Wed) is scheduled to operate on a 330, which I believe is normally not the case. It appears to be a one off as its usually a 321 or 7M8. I received a pre-order and the menu is the regular NB 2 option menu, and the same is shown on the fight status page. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced this as I'm wondering if the flight will actually be catered this way or if it will be catered with the expanded Signature menu?
