Excellent, thanks. This is her first taste of the FF world and the rollover miles will be a nice start to the pursuit of 50k in 2023.

I really wish they'd allow some level of SQD rollover (say up to $5k).

Great, that makes sense. What about eUps earned mid-year? Say in February or March (or any other month), do any of those get "rolled over" or do they just expire per their one year timeline?

Status or threshold eUps will expire Jan 16th and can be rolled over once, promo eUps will typically expire a year later and cannot be rolled over.

so if I earned 35K status until end of 2023 from status upgrade/extension promos, hold a premium Aeroplan credit card and accumulated 25K SQM and $2500 SQD this year, then no SQM is rolled over ?

if that's the case, then there's no incentive for me to fly revenue instead of redeeming points for the rest of the year. I wish they'll change their stance permanently or temporarily via a promo.

Terms of the card say you must have elite status and the reserve card at the time of rollover to be eligible. So if your partner has 25K next year and the card, she should be good.

Correct, the 35K must have been earned organically (35K SQM and $4K SQD). Then, anything above 35K SQM will be eligible for rollover. Status gifts, promos, and upgrades don't count.

to follow up on that - Ive made 25k for next year, but have been offered the gift of 35k for the rest of the year. Id still be able to rollover the eUPs and whatever Ive earned above 25k organically (with my Amex reserve)?

Hoping someone can clarify something for me.

I obtained SE status for 2020 the old fashioned way, by flying with AC and SA carriers. My status was extended into 2021 and 2022 due to Covid. I will have my SE status extended into 2023 due to my CIBC Aerogold Visa card spend. I currently have ~125,000 SQMs, but only ~$17,000 SQDs and 74 eUpgrades in my account. If I were to upgrade my CC to the premium Aeroplan CC, with the $599 annual fee, what would actually get rolled over into 2023? I am assuming that ~25,000 SQMs would roll over, and that 50 eUpgrades would roll over, but I am unsure due to the fact that I did not officially qualify for SE in 2023 (It is just a status extension)

I am hoping that someone can confirm that upgrading to the new premium Aeroplan credit card will in fact facilitate the rollover of The SQMs and eUpgrades into my 2023 year, or not.

In the same boat with over 130K SQMs, 16K SQD and 188 eupgrades so assuming will get rollover again.
That's what happened to me last year and I am presuming the same going into 2023 from 2022.

Im trying to get a definitive answer re e-up rollover. I was comped 25K via Amex black card Feb 2022 and get the 25 e-ups. I have 7 left which expire in Jan 2023.
Ive already received notice of extension of 25K to end of 2023 via the CC route. I wouldnt get 25K for 2023 the old fashioned way-lots of SQS but not enough SQD's.
Will the remaining 7 e-ups roll over in Feb 2023? Im reading some posts that say not if you are only qualified by credit card.

Anyone know the answer?

I have an opportunity to use up 6 of the 7 tomorrow YYC-YVR if I have to.

Thankyou

I have 90+ eupgrades and my status is expiring this year. Are there any credit cards that would allow me to roll over these eupgrades? I live in the US. Would the chase card roll over the eupgrades?

The Chase card does not offer the rollover. Further, the cards that do have rollover require you to re-qualify for status for the following year.

My wife has 63k sqm this year, has been 50k for a couple years, and 36 eUps

we dont value the eUps that much but she might be tight retaining 50k next year and we do value star alliance gold, any thoughts on whether $599 td card is worthwhile?

I assume she would get 13000 sqm carryover plus the 2500sqm 60k threshold benefit? Or is it just from 60k?

Have you already received the SUB for the TD VIP? If not, thats an easy decision to make.

The rollover SQM is gonna really help with status and sounds like you plan on travelling a lot more with star alliance airlines. Paying $599 to rollover eups but also boost status (main thing youre looking for) imo is worth
