Where: On your computing device. Anything with a Zoom client. https://zoom.us/download - You probably want "Zoom Client for Meetings" or "Zoom Mobile Apps".

When: Saturday April 13 2024 @ 1700 PDT / 2000 EDT / 2130 NDT - We will likely go quite late, typically ending after 0100 PDT.

The link will be the same every week. We don't need a list, many people will be here. Just add your name if you want the link PM'd to you around 1630 PDT before the do.

Suggestion: Please include your forum handle (and optionally your name) when logging onto Zoom.

Please send me the same link as last week:

These so-called virtual Dos will soon be my death
I'm so sick from the drink, I need home for a rest
Take me home!

(Actually, I'm just tired, not sick, but I don't ever stay up until 3AM otherwise, and this popped in to my head... )

Nice SoW reference - well done.

And I hope you slept well.

marke190 mentioned that doing this on a day that isn't Fri/Sat may be easier now that a lot of restrictions are loosening. I'm open to suggestions if the majority would like to move it.

I will also be moving from UTC-7 to UTC+2 from August 28 through September 25, which basically makes me unavailable with the current schedule.

I would be in favour of moving it to a Thursday night or something. I definitely would be able to attend more frequently if it wasn’t on weekends.

If the entirety of NA enters back into a big lockdown where most places are closed, we could talk about making it on weekends again.

As someone who has participated in almost all of the weekly Saturday Dos as well as most of the impromptu ones on other nights, I'd join this for a while where possible, even on a different date.

It's true that perhaps people are doing other stuff more on Saturday nights, but a couple of items for thought:
  • I presume most people would have difficulty carrying on nearly as late on a weeknight as they have on Saturday nights
  • With many people having work considerations, does it make it harder to carve out a piece of their evening for Do attendance on a weeknight?

Anyway, you guys decide whatever works, and I'll join if I can

Those are my thoughts. I can stay up "late" on a Tuesday night, but I'm not staying up to 3am every Tuesday night. This gets much harder when you factor in east coasters.

I also can't easily start at 5 on the dot guaranteed on a work day.

So sure, I can do 1900-0100 PDT, but that very quickly becomes a west coast do.

And then as I said, I'm heading to Europe, meaning anything other than Friday or Saturday night (NA time) is basically impossible for me to join at all.

I am of the opinion that attendance will be down until we get back into October/November. Once the summer ends, I think more people will be free on Saturday evenings and attendance will go up as a result.

As I said the other day though, I will still attend whenever possible, of course.
