Oh I knew I should've checked flyertalk before we left for the airport! Thank you so much for your generosity though and handling my grovelling with grace! Hope to chat more next week (with my girlfriend gone)

YYC3722 has brought this up at a couple of previous virtual Dos, but here's more detail on how the lack of flights is hampering weather forecasting.

I will be a No Show for tonight's Virtual Do.
It's a gorgeous day in YVR and Ms. Boh and I will be out strolling the Seawall; no doubt overrun with Covidiots, before enjoying a nice Italian dinner in Yaletown.
(Apologies to the still quarantined canadiancow . I will raise a glass of bubbles in your general direction.)
Have fun, be nice to the codfather and don't stay up too late.

We watched about 20 people dressed in their finery spending about half an hour hugging and kissing and posing for photographs. This was before they boarded their boat for some kind of 30th birthday party on the water. Fun times - here's hoping they have a 31st birthday. And here's hoping I don't have to fly with any of them in the near future.

Well, it was a spectacular evening. Sitting down for a beverage near the West Marina, my assumption about plenty of Covidiots sadly proved true.

Last night we discussed the possibility of an in-person do next Saturday.
The ideas we had were:
1. YLW or YKA (I can't remember where nomadic.relief is)
2. Someone's backyard in YVR that would allow for social distancing for those who desire/require it
3. A bar/restaurant in YVR that would allow for social distancing for those who desire/require it
I'm in YVR.

It's YKA. And I thought the idea was to do YVR on Saturday and YKA on Sunday. AC only has one flight/day from YVR to YKA (dep 13:00 arr 13:48). I can't do that flight and also do the things I was coming to YVR to do in the first place.
If we don't do YVR on Saturday, I could still meet you and nomadic.relief in YKA on Sunday. I would just take WS YYC-YKA on the Sunday and fly out the next day. Or maybe I'd fly YYC-YVR-YKA. I'd have to think about the value of the Aeroplan at 50% off vs the simplicity of just flying WS. I have a few spare bookings that I could move around. I'd have to think about it, I just woke up from a nap and am not at 100% yet.
