Yes yes, it's possible to fly MRs at rates that are unprofitable to the airline. This isn't news

Though maybe I should do that next year instead of EYW.

$20k CAD for like 700k Aeroplan miles, SE status (again), and halfway to MM?

I wonder if I can do it in a week...

Lol no no it takes longer than that! A week only would do like 40,000 AQM

Horse hockey!

Assuming nothing but long-haul J, and assuming reasonably tight connections, you could probably average 400 mph, times 1.5x CoS, x24 x7, and you could just barely do 100,000 AQM in a week!

...paging Nomad, Dr. Nomad to the thread please...

Remember this started with "425k AQM for 20k AQD on AC metal" though.

You can't just fly YYZ-YVR-SYD-YVR-YYZ and back over and over for that CPM.

Besides, falling short on AQD doesn't really mean much if you hit 100K on Jan 7th.

I just like doing math.

Can you believe i travelled 170K with a total spend of $25K, but only $18,5K eligible miles ? all sort of reasons , no code share flights beyond AC gateways in Asia and Africa , some flights that i plainly forgot to book under AC* numbers etc .

I don't even make SE100 .

Increasingly disapointing FF program. I'm considering splitting my travels in two : Gold / E75 on AC with minimum $9K spent and get gold status on Skyteam with the other half . If i am not going to make SE again, i might as well try and get gold with 2 groups. Or just gradually switch to another star carrier such as LH .

Still pondering .

Have to act soon tough , two trips lined up in january : SIN and CCU .
change your address to USA, simple solution.

The requirement is that you reside outside of Canada. To claim an address where you don't reside would be dishonest. You decide if your moral compass allows you to do that, whether others get away with it or not.

If most of your travelling initiates elsewhere, you should be OK.

But if 90% of my travelling initiates at YYC and I claim an address in Massachusetts (which I possibly could) surely it's another story.I guess my point is, why should we care about ethics when dealing with an organization such as AC, as if they would have some sort of ethics.. Or knew what the word means. Real issue is credibility.

100 % of my travels originate in YOW , i usually go directly from work to the airport. I'll live with it.

i checked other FF programs last night , and decided i will stay with AC and get the minimum for E75 next year, and start on Flying Blue as well . Getting gold status with them will not take long and they will be practical for some of my Africa trips .

If any of you are also members, feel free to share your thoughts.

Who would be that stupid to do this for a Airline FF program? There are a lot of customs/ legal issues this could cause you.

Just changing your address in your Aeroplan profile?

(I would not do it if not staying there for at least a few months though. But after hat, what about "conveniently" forgetting to switch it back?)
