What happens if I am selected as E35 gifting and later my gifter gift E50 to another person?
Or if my gifter choose 50 e-up credits instead?
Also what happens to my e-upgrade credits when I reelect my E50 privileges on January 4th?

There is a reason though. I am sitting at 105 kmiles and 1860 AQDs. So it would seem I stand a good chance to reach the SE level again.

My wife sits on just a tad over 35k miles but above the AQD for 50k. So they probably decided that it is unlikely that she'll make it. She did not even get the offer to pay for E50k.

But actually our next trip should get us both over the next level.

I wonder, what would happen if she picks 35k benefits now and later reaches the 50k level? :D

New "Promotion Code" Option on Altitude Dashboard
 

I just logged into my dashboard and noticed a new tab called "Promotion Codes". I don;t remember seeing the tab there a couple of days ago. When I click on it, I get "You are currently not eligible for a promotion code"

I can't find any reference to what this tab offers. Maybe it's an enhancement?

So, if you select those "aircanada.com Travel Options" from bundle 2, the will not send you the piece of paper any more. They will just show up on there instead.

In past years, it's always been available to people who can't (or very likely won't) cross the next tier.

So everyone who's hit SE can select, but below that, they do some kind of analysis to determine if they should offer you the option yet.

Something like 2 days before departure, when the flight starts moving to airport control, it pulls an updated status.

The issue is more if you want to exercise the longer upgrade window at T-14 instead of T-10, or if you want to select a free preferred seat. That's when you have to call.

Note: If you reach status X+1 on date Y, and your flight is on date Y+1, there is no way to get the status to show above X. There are some unavoidable delays.

I suspect it has to do with a calculation of the likelyhood of getting to the next tier.

Well I DO have the option to select my P25k privileges - despite having enough flights booked to clear E35k. Granted there is no guarantee I'll take them but seems a bit stupid.

Oh and it says I have to do it by Jan 01.
Though when I click in, it says Jan 03.

Yeah, that makes sense. Although in my case, I'm safely into E50 and quite a ways off from E75. I guess it's possible I can hit the next tier, it's pretty unlikely at this point.

The benefits are exactly the same as last year...I thought that with the AQD's that the SE would get something else. I can only imagine them in a meeting saying something like "ok..we are so tired, lets just do the same thing as last year". Boooring!!!!
