Next year you will get love. AC only re-designs their tags every other year. Not great, but better than it was. AC only gave tag SE members tags once, back when they started the program. They were nice leather tags with no year on them.

IIRC that was a special tag commemorating AC's 40th anniversary. AC has been doing elite tags every year of the elite program, changing the design most years. (I've got about a dozen different SE tags, and another dozen or so Elite ones over the past 33 years.) They even did Prestige tags for the first couple of years when Elite was the only other tier. When SE was introduced, they stopped issuing Prestige tags and just did Elite and SE each year.

It had nothing to do with their 40th anniversary. These where the SE tags. I had the same ones for 2 or 3 years before the SE program was announced. Once they announced the SE programs, date started on the SE tags.

And what's wrong with getting a new one each year? (They do have the MM or 2MM or 3MM logo on them.) A one-time permanent one would get rather worn down after a couple of years of use. And people can and do change elite status each year, so would this mean they'd attach the permanent MM tag and their current Altitude status tag?
