Nope.

For $1,500 I'd suggest you book yourself a weekend to Europe between now and the end of the year if you will be flying a lot in 2017.

Fully Agree with you! Book it now. There is No entitlement to SE and if your that short get moving now.

That's what I did. 36 AQS, but about $330 short of $4000 in AQD. So, booked a little getaway. :) The benefits of 35k are far better than 25k, so it's worth it. Though somewhat bummed about the loss of the family member lounge benefit.

(BTW, hello all! Been a long time reader but this is my first post.)

I am 17 miles short of E35k (based on planned trips up to 28/12) so am going to NYC for a weekend. Annoyingly the flights shot up between the "I may do this" and the "Okay lets book" 24 hours though. Hate short notice flights when I'm paying myself.

Westjet has just announced their 2017 program and it looks they have actually enhanced rather than "enhanced" it.

As do I.

But.

Quick survey: when was the last time that you saw a pregnant woman traveling for work? What percentage of FFers are expectant females?

So while I too think this is a fair and reasonable thing for AC to offer, I have a suspicion that it is a lot more about PR than it is about doing something positive for any significant number of people. My guess is that a) the demographic in question is a tiny fraction of 1% to start with, and that people that use this and continue to be FF after maternity (or paternity) will be an even smaller number. Just sayin'.

I know for a fact that at least a few people at YYZ saw a pregnant woman travelling for work last May as I ran (and yes, in high heeIs) with my laptop bag flapping behind me to catch my flight after a meeting ran late. I flew for work up until the last possible day that I was allowed to fly per Air Canada's regulations. I wish that this was around last year as I had my son in June 2016 and I'm not sure it applies to keeping the status that I had this year since I didn't get enough flying in to requalify for E50 in the first 5 months of 2016. I'll sure miss the perks when I go back to flying on a weekly basis returning to work next summer. So all of this to say this yes, it may apply to a small demographic but also a growing one ... pardon the pun!

Their program is still well below par. Until they change 10x lounge visits and 4x seat selects, their program is still a no go.

Hmmm I see Zone 1.

Assuming these promises are the same as their Plus package I didn't see anything worthwhile. Priority boarding is after everyone with any minor travelling, priority security was ignored at both ends, and they remain the only airline to ask me to take items from my checked luggage and put them into my carry on because I was... 2kg over the 23kg limit.

And as a plus customer I was meant to get 2x23kg. I had 1x25kg. Apparently it's too heavy for them. Seriously, it's not even WJ staff that handle them, I still have to drop my 2kg overweight bag onto the little loading area.

I digress. As many issues as I have with AC/AP I'd still rather fly them than WJ.

I have a feeling that they will be releasing their 2017 Benefits info tonight. ;)

Good, I was planning on being in a drunken stupor at office party by then anyway.

I think they have the definition well in-hand. There are negatives and positives in the WestJet changes and I would suspect they have aimed for a cost-neutral approach but more benefits for those that truly are loyal and spend more; not indifferent from the AC approach.
