Last year AC cut the top half of their FF program, something tells me the bottom half will get cut this year.

The "congratulations on achieving status for 2017" emails were sent out today it seems. Got excited when I saw the email, as I thought it might go along with the release of the 2017 program information. Guess we will have to keep waiting. The AC Altitude account on twitter seemed to suggest we'd get more information in late December. Doesn't seem like their information is correct, at least I hope it doesn't take that long.

It's also possible that we've been told everything that's changing.

I think more changes have been announced for this year than last year (in terms of benefits, not qualification).

Thats totally possible. I would hope that if this were the case they'd just be a little more clear about it, and make one of those PDFs for the 2017 program.

The e-mail that was sent did say that an e-mail about select privileges would be sent in December or January so late December is a possibility...

It's the same message every year. It should come available some time the 2nd week of December. If it's the same as the last 7-8yrs. Don't wait for the email just log on too your Dashboard some time over the next few days mid December.

My thoughts exactly. Same ol' same ol' communicaitons and timing.

Got my 2017 SE requalification email yesterday as well.

I am currently at about 110K AQMs and 19.5K AQD, with one flight to Europe (about $1,200 AQD) scheduled in December. My question is - is AC anticipating the additional AQD from my bookings (seems unlikely, given all I have read on here about their IT) or will they be offering some leeway on AQD for requalification?

I am about the same distance away from AQD, but I received a welcome to 75K email.

Have met AQM and AQS.

Perhaps the letter is still generated based on the old triggers.

Do you have any remaining flights booked for 2016?

My dashboard showed me as $40 short when i received the SE renewal e-mail but later that day the dashboard was updated to tip me over the magic number. Given that it presumably takes AC a bit of time to go from compiling a list to sending an e-mail (I would find it hard to believe they do it in real time rather than batch) there are any number of possible scenarios including:
  • they are offering a bit of leeway this year
  • their batching of updates to the altitude website is even slower than the batching internally
  • they were looking at bookings through to the end of the year
  • AC IT randomness

Good question, because my wife currently has 99857AQM and $19962AQD and she got the E75 email.
