Perhaps the letter is still generated based on the old triggers.
It you tell me I've qualified, I better receive the status. |

Whatever. My wife waits a little longer for her 50K. |

Good question, because my wife currently has 99857AQM and $19962AQD and she got the E75 email.

Ouch, that's tantalizingly close. She could've really used an extra segment in there or something.

Wondering if they are taking into account planned travel too (since I'm on a non-ref Flex fare next week so they will get my $ in any case). I'm $414 short (at 102 AQS) but got the welcome back to 100k email.

If one is qualified for E50k status for next year, will those benefits kick in only with March 2017, or will I get E50k benefits such as international MML access already with January?

It can be dangerous to look at planned travel for sending the letter. Lets say someone receives the email for SE based on planned travel but then ends up cancelling their trip, or due to IRROPS getting placed on a more direct route and losing out on AQS (this happened to me several times in 2015 and meant I couldn't hit E35K). There would then be an issue of bait and switch. AC would have to make a pretty clear point in the letter that the status is conditional on flying all booked travel. |
It seems that the emails have been issued based on a given point in time, irrespective of current status and likelihood of moving up or down. In years gone by they waited until year end to send any notifications, particularly if a status downgrade was imminent. I am dropping out of SE this time and I received an email that does reflect where I will be, and I am actually quite happy about that - no waiting until last minute to have it sorted out.

I got the E35K email but have been sitting at 49,500 aqm (with 45,000 regual option) and over 6,000 in AQD
Been there since sept.... Wait or call ac? |

Is it not in AC's interest to wait until late enough that pax who could jump ship won't? (assuming devaluations) Dec 31 would be the logical date.

If announcements for 2018 benefits were made in January 2017, people would know they're "safe" to fly AC the entire year. |

No, because if there's a history of late negative announcements, people are more likely to jump ship in general.

Official downgrade from SE with 1500 AQD'S short. does anyone think the e75 status benefits might be enhanced for all of us who flew a lot but did not quite make the cut ? |
