One time at FRA I forgot to hand over my cert at boarding (honest mistake). The GA tracked me down on-board. She wasn't smiling.

I have a lot more to post here, as I don't find much else interesting in this forum at this juncture, even when not on a Thursday.

Once I'm done posting such "historical" documents, I'm willing to give them away to anyone who wants them here. (They'll have to DIY sanitize them as they see fit).

Oh I liked it when the contract staff in Mexico failed to pick up the SSWU's I had just successfully applied at the airport for our return home (they left them where I had put them on the check in counter). I got to use the 2 of them again.

Fascinating. The article itself is current from Apr 13 2020 and an interesting read. The news video is from Apr 13 1982.
Sure, only 38 years ago and yes, I'm sure many of you will comment that you were not born yet. I know some of us remember Knowlton Nash.
QUOTES:
"An Air Canada seat sale wasn't usually newsworthy enough that Knowlton Nash was ready to tell viewers all about it.
But this one was different, as he explained on CBC's The National on April 13, 1982.
Unlike previous seat sales, the airline was offering a discount for flights scheduled for the summer.
"That's a sign the airline might be going through some tough economic times," said Nash.
......
He added that Air Canada had announced the sale amid a "depressing economic outlook" and "distressing travel market."
Airline Vice President John McMurtry was frank about Air Canada's motivations.
"We're doing it basically because business is down," he said. "Our advance bookings for the summer looked very poor, quite light."

(Love the 1982 planeporn.

Today's throwback is a memory I have when I started as a TA in the mid-90's of special AC economy NITE fares for the redeye YEG-YYZ that left around 1AM daily and was cheaper than all other daytime flights by IIRC $50 - $75 or thereabouts. Discounted economy Ticket totals - without the myriad of surcharges and fees - were in the $180 - $240 range roundtrip, again IIRC.
Ah, those were the days...
