Few posts on following thread suggests B767 or A340

Using the wayback machine website I was able to find a PDF timetable from 2003. YYC-LHR was B763 and A333.

I forgot how bad ACs website was back then.

The wayback machine websiteis awesome for airline enthusiasts.

I was just looking at the 2004 version:

- J cabin: recliner seats on most aircrafts (flat beds only on the 345), big announcement about the "new Executive First" cabin to be launched soon on select aircrafts
- 2-2-1 / 1-2-2 layout in J on the 763 (which I remember)
- apparently AC also had 762s and 763s with a 2-2-2 layout upfront that were sold as J within NA and as PE on int'l routes. I honestly had no idea AC offered PE back then

So apparently AC used to have a "winter" and "summer" configuration with different number of Y and J seats on the 333.

Does anyone remember any details?

I guess with manual chairs and no Avod etc.it was easier to change the configuration, but still interesting...

I still loved the old physical book timetables, especially when my father used to work for AC and we were always flying standby. We kept one in our pocket to always know what the options were on any given day

The A345s had angled lie-flats that were uncomfortable in the flat position.

The problem was domestic J was all that was promised on domestic/transborder routes, and occasionally AC would substitute a 2-2-2 767 for an internationally configured 767 on these routes at short notice with no compensation. There are plenty of threads about this in the FT archives.

They used A333s with the extra mini-J cabin in the winter when there was more demand for J on international routes, and then swapped out the mini-J cabin with Y to carry more leisure travellers in the summer.

It doesn't seem like that long ago ...

You should have seen the whining around these parts when the 333 got subbed for a 762 on the YVR-YYZ-YVR.
AC142 eastbound. AC137 westbound?

Well, same things do not change.

It was only last year that AC switched a 320/321 and in some cases even a 787/777/333/763ML for a pathetic 763 Rouge on various transcons.

I can get to this page, but nothing is available when requesting schedules.

Were the barcodes unique?

MLL passes are all the same, but they don't have name or Aeroplan number printed on them.

For some years, including 2010, yes. I double checked by actually scanning it and it has identifiable information.

In 1998 I flew on Canadian from YYC-LHR and it was a DC-10.

I vividly remember the landing at LHR as there was fog, low cloud and heavy rain. The captain came on and said that if we looked to the left we were passing Windsor Castle, I was on the left and looked out the window and could barely see the end of the wing it was raining so hard. I could tell that we were getting close to landing, but I couldn't see the ground at all. Then we hit the runway hard, so hard that one of the large ceiling panels that forms the cabin roof came down and hit the passengers in the row behind me. It was a large plastic panel, about 4'x6' or so from memory.

As it came down with a fair bit of force it badly cut two passengers behind me and one lady was bleeding profusely. Cabin crew noticed and we made a quick taxi to a stand and then had to wait to disembark as the paramedics came on board and did first aid and took her off in a stretcher. I hope she recovered quickly, but it made for a memorable landing. There are a lot of wires in the roof of a DC10!

It was twenty years ago today
Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play,
They've been going in and out of style,
But they're guaranteed to raise the smile,
So may I introduce to you,
The act you've known for all these years,
Sergeant Pepper's Mexi-can Hat Dance.
