The Aussie rock band INXS flew on my AC flight YEG-YVR in June 2006 and connecting in YVR I asked for an autograph so they signed my BP folder. Great encounter as I mentioned I was headed to SYD for my first visit and they brightened and told me a few local haunts to check out. Great travel memories.

RIP Michael Hutchence : loved their music and I remember being blown away by the concert video from the tour before his death.

I used it exactly once. It must have been sometime in '85 or '86 since that's when I was actually going to Toronto regularly for business.
Way back before the UP Express it was a fast way to get to YYZ. But none of us thought it would last long.

Assuming you're referring to the Check In magazine above, not sure. I grabbed that copy at the old LHR T3 MLL for some reading time while riding on the Piccadilly Line.
AFAIK, I don't think I ever received such print in the mail from AC at the time.

BUT Cherry St. makes no sense. Our condo was between Cherry and Parliament, which is the far East end of Toronto. Maybe worked for the Scarborough crowd, but even by '92-95, a limo from YYZ to downtown was still pretty quick and not too expensive. There was enough competition that they fell all over themselves to offer discounts for pre booking or return pick up.
Helicopter followed by another taxi/limo might cut 15-20 minutes off the trip to University, but only if it meant direct terminal access and the car was waiting. Anyone know where the Helipad was? Cherry isn't that long and a quick search didn't help.

Southeast corner of Cherry and Unwin, across from the Marine Terminals on the east side of Toronto Harbour. It subsequently became the quarters of a security company (Intelligarde?); I visited the heliport several times for work (fire dept).

Going back the the time, a friend's (my GF's BFF's boyfriend) family had their yacht at RCYC and we used to sail out of there on Summer nights back in the 80's. We would sail from the Island though, not the site across from the old Helipad.
