A330-300 Fleet Overview
AC currently has two configurations of 333:
- Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
- The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
- Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
- Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

As much as I like the current Y in the 330, they are adding rows of Y, at least according to the new seat map on AC.com. So in a way I hope they put slimline seats in, or else the legroom is going to be quite tight (or does the PY leave extra space behind it after the refurb, which is where the extra Y goes?).

Airbus 330 - New Business Class?
I am planning on flying with Air Canada via Toronto to Amsterdam next year since they have some good Business Class fares if 2 travel together.
Amsterdam - Toronto shows an A330-300 and I wonder if these might be getting the new Business Class seats by summer, if not there is also the option to fly with LH via FRA which might be the better option since the older herringbone seats seem to be getting quite tired.

I find the search function on FT to be challenging sometimes. I just knew about the other thread since a FTer had recently posted a wiki so I remembered the discussion.

- Business class configuration is old style pod 3 wide and photo is of the current (not new) pod.
- Premium Economy is 3 x 7 as expected.
- Economy - in the back cabin they have eliminate one center row of 4 seats (they only go to 49 vs. 50 on the current layout). Wonder if this means they are putting in a bigger wheelchair compliant lac or expanding the galley. Anyway, no extra rows back there so pitch is remaining the same. Two rows have been added to the front section of Y, which seems to start ahead of the wing vs. behind where the wing starts currently - not sure if any seat pitch change in this section.

I've attached the following screenshots from the booking engine directly (of a domestic flight):

I does look like that currently the refurbished 330 is planned for AMS - YYZ since it shows Premium Economy but as you said it's still quite a few months away and I think whichever aircraft will be on this route, there is a very good chance that it will have the new business class which is much better than Lufthansa's.
I'll probably just book all flights with AC and see what happens in the new year.
