that particular devaluation was absolutely off the charts. Glad I redeemed what I needed prior to the devaluation

Just called AP to do a ticket change. Had a pre-deval PEK-BKK flight booked, and wanted to do a change to PEK-NRT. The original ticket was Asia 1-Asia 1, and the new change I'm wanting is also intra Asia 1. I had assumed I can change dates and destinations, as long as I stay within the zone for just the 90$ change fee, with no extra miles being charged. Agent wanted to top up to 80k. Whats right??

Great news!
I just made a change to a VERY simple itinerary: YUL-FRA-VIE, VIE-FCO, FCO-FRA-YUL, changed return to FCO-IST-YUL. No date change, no stopover change, nothing. Agent charged me $250, refunded around $120, all is well (2 people). No mention of increased mileage.
... except I am missing 40K miles in my account, and in "my rewards" it says the reward was 220K miles, and I have a 2x90K refund in my account now.
    looks like I have to spend time on hold with Aeroplan again.

Something like that happened to me last year. Supervisor checked the recording of my conversation with AE agent and was able to confirm that there was no mention of increased mileage requirement. So they refunded the extra miles.
Good luck.

Not legit. I made a change on one of my itins and they charged me even without asking. Refunded me the points when I complained.

I've had 2 agents tell me any changes to itinerary (as in city changes) even within the same Europe 1 zone will result into increased mileage. They said if it's just date changes, they will keep at 90K, however since I am changing cities, I will now pay 110K. Should I complain?

I changed cities for an itinerary later this year (originally booked in June 2015) and had two agents give opposite answers. Fortunately, it was the first agent who said no whereas the topic didn't even come up and the changes were made without requiring additional miles.
