I can guarantee my banana chocolate chip bread is significantly better than any baked good served in the MLLs.....although not that long ago, there was an awesome one at LAX

Someone already picked their nose before reaching in with their bare hands. Then afterward, someone sneezed inside the bowl.
But of course, that's all acceptable. I believe the line is drawn at voiding into the bowl, but I could be wrong.

Yes, you're wrong.

Voiding into the bowel is ok as long as no one sees you do it.

Last week breakfast at the domestic MLL in YVR was an improvement. I do not frequent the MLL often. At 6am they had mini omelettes, turkey sausage and scones. Plus watermelon slices. I think there may have been soup and other stuff but I was half asleep since I had 2 hrs sleep.

Yeah the mini omelettes are relatively new. (or simply made a return)

The mini omelettes (or a previous version of them) existed at least two or three years ago, IIRC. Not sure if it is a new caterer or whatever.

I do like the scones. But that may be personal preference. Also that they had watermelon slices.

Yeah the scones and watermelon slices are new and haven't been part of the spread, IIRC, since ever, at least in my memory of 15 flying years on AC. Perhaps CDG had scones at some point?

In addition to the photo upthread of the "tortillas and tongs" I posted last night from the YYZ Dom MLL.....

There was a guy taking some bread and soup and he said the bread was stale.

Yes, I would expect it to be. Lucite plastic containers such as these, are not sealed and even the bread in the basket in the Suite was dried out (not an issue if you plan to toast it). I am not sure there is a better solution because having an airtight container with a lid, for e.g.., presents its own set of problems.

Two soups on tap, this one and Minestrone.

At least it wasn't "tortillas and thongs".

YYC MLL around 11:30 PM last week before the red eye. The only food in the lounge was tortilla chips, and salsa. Nothing else. None of the other typical off-peak items like soup, bread, salad, edamame, hummus, cookies. Not even pickles. I wasn't expecting much late in the evening, but the prior times I've taken the red eye there were at least a couple of food options (e.g. maybe some soup, salad, or cookies). Not sure if this is the new norm for off-peak times at YYC or just a particularly bleak evening for offerings in the lounge.

This is status quo.

Soup is yanked around 11pm (or was it 10:30pm) in the other hub domestic MLLs. Edamame, salad, edamame are removed at the end of dinner spread.

OK, good to know. No cookies, hummus/pita chips, or pickles the norm now for late night too?
