I guess they finally realized that European style J seating sucks?
Happy they did not go the way of SK, which is the worst of the worst as per their SAS PLUS product.

The current premium seats are 35" pitch (slimline). Moving to proper J will require adding 1" since they'll no longer be slimline (2" if you want the proper J pitch).

The exit row position is fixed. Not sure how this can happen without reducing J from 12 to 8 seats?

Rumour is front cabin will be modified to 3 rows of 2*2 seating (12 seats).
Whether that's enough pitch to be "Proper" J or not, you can decide.

Let's just agree it's a change that benefits flyers and provides an entirely comfortable transcontinental option

So if this is true I guess there weren't enough suckers willing to pay J prices for non J seats and service.

Putting in a mini-J cabin will facilitate swapping Rouge aircraft in on domestic leisure-travel-heavy minimal-J selling non-Rouge routes (ie: YVR-YYZ, YYC-YYZ) when the capacity is available.

I wouldn't characterize either of those routes as leisure heavy minimal J.

Seat Pitch does not change whether or not the seats are slimline.
Leg room changes but not seat pitch.

You are right. Apparently AC has been thinking about the config for around a month. Total seat capacity remaining the same at 12J/6Y+/118Y.

The J seats will be 36" legroom.

Where is the extra 3" coming from to increase the pitch on the 3 rows?

Any word on in-seat power and timelines?

I think legroom is mostly coming at the expense of row 1.

From what I can tell they are identical to the 763 PR seats, though that may be a placeholder. So in seat power would be possible, anyway. No timeline I'm aware of, or if all 319s will even be getting the J product.

This is still just a rumour, if I understand correctly?

It's a rumour until they officially announce it around March/April, anyway But several of us have heard from AC people it's happening. Like the 777 update, once the wheels are in motion it's likely to be followed through on though no guarantees.

My guess is they'll announce at the same time :-::-:special:-::-: interior configs for the incoming leased 321s are announced.

Hmmmmm. Special interior configs for the new 321s.....

Could that be something 'minty' fresh?
