I'm going to take out the hkg and see if that works. She mentioned that it was part 2 that is the main issue;

PPT-AKL
AKL-SYD
SYD-BKK
BKK-HKG (2 DAYS)
HKG-KIX (STOP)
KIX-ICN
ICN-YYZ
YYZ-YOW

I tried other routings but can't seem to if i want to keep KIX and HKG. I'm willing to even do open jaw but still cant do it. Is it fine that i have BKK twice on there?

Unless I'm missing something, you don't have BKK twice? Either way, the only restriction there is that you can't have BKK twice on the outbound or the return, but you CAN have it once on either side of the destination. So, for example, you can't fly HKG-BKK-PNH-BKK-SYD-SIN-HKG, but you absolutely could have HKG-BKK-SYD-BKK-HKG.

Also, beware that the SYD-BKK leg, on Thai, is generally on their older 747s, which are among the least-comfortable business-class seats left on the market.

Sorry I must have double BKK by accident. I don't mind 747 as long as it fits within MPM and it gets me to KIX/HKG fastest. The reason I did AKL-SYD-BKK is because theres barely any layover times

AKL- arive at 620AM
Depart SYD at 7AM
Arrive SYD at 8:30AM
Depart BKK at 10AM.
There is a ICN that departs at 9am from SYD as well but it seems if I do that it would be long MPM.

Even if I took out PPT atm, it still shows over on the gccmap as i believe I have 12,000MPM on the return (confirm?)

When I was talking to agent earlier; she can this SHOULD be doable;

YOw-YUL-ZRH-IST-DXB-BKK-SYD-AKL-PPT

For 100% sure YOw-YUL-ZRH-IST-DXB-BKK-SYD this is doable

It's only the return that she said wasn't doable as it should be max MPM of 12,000 but I had 18,000MPM. So is the return calculating from PPT-YOW or AKL-YOW?

Are there shorter route options that returns to YOW from HKG/KIX/ICN?

You posted this question in 2 different threads. These questions should be moved to the miniRTW questions thread for discussion.

But as mentioned in the other thread, you cannot do YOW-PPT with a stop in SYD.

Agreed, and with so many questions and cities noted, I have no idea what the OP is actually planning anymore.

YUL BOS AC Y
BOS IST TK J
IST EBB TK J STOP

Gorillas, Himalayas, Orangutans, Birdwatching and beaches. Does it get any better! 😁

YYZ-TPE - BR 77W
TPE-NRT - BR 763

(stop - NRT)

NRT-SIN - NH 789
SIN-MEL - SQ 333

(turnaround point MEL)

MEL-BKK - TG 359
(18 hour layover BKK- 6am to 00:50)
BKK-MUC - TG 747
(23.5 hour layover MUC 07:05 to 06:30)
MUC-FCO LH 319
(22.5 hour layover FCO - 8am to 06:35)
FCO-BRU - SN 319

(stop - BRU)

BRU-ZRH LX E90
(21 hour layover - 16:10 to 12:50)
ZRH-YUL LX 333
YUL-YYZ AC 333

$375 ticket; was hoping to get a longer layover in TPE or SIN on the way there, but schedule wouldn't co-operate. Very happy with the BKK layover, since it'll be a full day in Bangkok and then onto a 11 hour 747 flight :-)

Looks great and love that you maximise your time in each layover! Was it 320k points?

Yes, I know it will be hot and humid but it was the only time I could go (I'm even missing my PhD convocation!)
Well I figured it would be too good to be true. Thai airways has changed both aircraft I was supposed to be in First on (The A380 and the B747) into the A350 with no Business class. Welp, looks like the overall value of the four First Class legs just dropped. At least they weren't the TATL or TPAC legs *knocks on wood* New itinerary looks like this:

JFK-IST - TK J - 5 day stop - B777
IST-FRA - TK J - 22 hr layover - A321
FRA-HND - NH F - 18 hour layover - B777
HND-BKK - TG J - 14 hour layover - A350-900

Just booked for this fall! All in Y (I know), but there wasn't J availability anyway and we only had 90K points each...

EDIT: We are being charged 100,000 and not 90,000 points because Africa is a higher total even though we are going to Australia as our destination. I have never heard of this before. Anyone else?

YOW-EWR (12 hours) AC
EWR-MXP (12 hours) (Overnight flight) UA
MXP-ADD (3 hour transit in ADD) (Overnight flight) ET
ADD-VFA (STOP - 16 days) ET
VFA-GBE (3 hour transit) ET
GBE-JNB (19 hours) SA
JNB-SIN (13 hours) (Overnight flight) SQ
SIN-PER (DESTINATION - 6 days) SQ
PER-BKK (19 hours) TG
BKK-DXB (18 hours) TG
DXB-IST (21 hours) TK
IST-FCO (STOP - 8 days) TK
FCO-ZRH (23 hours) LX
ZRH-EWR (2 hour transit) UA
EWR-YOW UA

Taxes / fees / YQ / etc = $497.10 + $30 call fee (for each of us).

MPM = 18121
