Menus now available online!

In the latest Altitude newsletter, they mentioned that one could see upcoming Int'l Business class menu online. Clicking the link on my mobile brought me to the Int'l business class page. Expanding the "Meals and Beverage" section, the bottom of the page includes a section where one can enter flight information and retrieve actual menus for their upcoming flights

Information is currently for flights until Feb 16, with the next set of menu scheduled to be published on Feb 21.

BTW, it also works for domestic flights. For International, only outbound from Canada

https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/cabin-features/international-business-class.html

Can we dream of the day when we may be able to pre-order online?

Yes, please continue dreaming .

Scoot (aka Tiger) has allowed you to preorder for years. Then again they are a cheap LCC so this might only happen on Rouge, but not Mainline .

This also works for North American rouge flights, outbound and inbound to Canada.

Three dried up & bland bits of cheese, 4 water crackers and some tired looking grapes. Even washed down with a couple of glasses of port it was a struggle.
I order diabetic meals, and for some reason I keep getting oodles of white rice on AC . I don't eat any, so I am usually hungry, and always ask for seconds and thirds of the cheese plate. One time I walked to the gallery to stretch and asked if they had any more cheese, the FA said they were out. OK, whatever, I say thanks, head back to my seat.

2 minutes later the SD comes back and offers me another plate of cheese. I say thanks. She even brought me port (yes, sweet wine, perfect for a diabetic!). I drank it anyway, she just overheard the other FA and I guess snuck me some of the cheese they were saving for themselves.

AC 12 TPE-YVR January 2018

In today's episode of "Food Porn on a Plane"......

Description:
Prawn, scallop, smoked salmon, mango salsa, lemon mayonnaise

Bubbles on a plane

Love how the AC logo looks in this lighting.

The chicken was a nice change and the first time I've had it. The rice and vegetables were cold because the plate was cold.

Description:
Chicken breast filled with asparagus and ricotta, chicken jus, mixed wild rice, grilled pumpkin, string beans

Cheese offering: Asiago, red cheddar, Brie

AWESOME - Chocolate Cherry Cake

All the way from France

My mid-flight snack

OK, the pastries ex-NRT and ex-HKG now have competition.

Outstanding and served perfectly warmed by the fantastic crew.

Well, to be clear I would call the soup quasi instant Asian or something like that.

But I sometimes like it if I wake up and the cabin is dark and I'm sort of hungry but not interested in fondling the fruit in the snack basket.

The Seared sesame tuna, fennel salad, red radish appetizer was tiny! Like, it wasn't even filling a quarter of the plate, and those are small. But reasonably tasty, and I wasn't feeling like a heavy meal at this hour so it was perfect for me.

On the other hand, the Cajun rosemary chicken, red pepper sauve, chive mashed potatoes, sautéed spinach, mixed peppers main was a substantial, quality dish and I thought the presentation was attractive. ^

Fresh fruit, which were ripe and full of flavour, along with a glass of port:

The apple pie was nice. Hey AC, if you can manage great desserts, that change often, on ex-Asia flights, how about bringing the same concept to ex-Canada flights? I'm really, really tired of the never-ending chocolate fondant. It's a good dessert, but not 3+ years in a row.

A glass of Drappier, which tastes so much better in the proper flutes.

The Smoked salmon, fingerling potato, red onion, capers, rosemary, breadcrumbs appetizer was the exact same I had two weeks before on AC31. I quite like it, one of the better appetizers in the last year IMO.

I decided to be adventurous, and tried the Hawksworth Signature Sablefish, lime scented basmati rice, mushroom, bok choy, green curry sauce. I heeded the warnings of some others here and had the crew put the sauce aside to ensure the fish was not drowning in it. Against all expectations, it was actually very tasty and not too salty or heavy. No, it's definitely not the best signature dish, and no match to the original 2015 sablefish, but quite enjoyable nonetheless.

Pre arrival brunch of Fresh seasonal fruit, along with Chicken Parmesan, pesto sauce, gemelli pasta, char-grilled grape tomatoes really hit the spot before landing in Taipei:

I really like this appetizer

Description: Smoked salmon, fingerling potato, red onion, capers, rosemary breadcrumbs

Warm bread roll on tray because bread plate was ice cold.

Now this made me sad. Tiny hockey puck. But hey, the mashed potatoes were good.

Description: Grilled AAA beef tenderloin, Cabernet peppercorn sauce, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes, asparagus

The Oka and Camembert were ok, fruit was nice. I avoid the Cheddar due to lack of taste.

Light Meal - Pre-arrival

First time I've had this one. Tasty, nice chicken, heated properly and not salty.

Description: Stir-fried Shanghai noodles, chicken julienne, bok-choy

Fresh bottle of Drappier poured tableside.

The Prawn, scallop, smoked salmon, mango salsa, lemon mayonnaise appetizer, along with the Mixed greens, cherry tomato, artichoke, balsamic vinaigrette salad:

Sadly, the Pan seared beef tenderloin, red wine sauce, herb roasted potatoes, red pepper zucchini main was disappointing. The beef portion was small, and despite the crew's best efforts, overcooked and hockey-puck like. At least the veggies and potatoes were tasty...

Some cheese...(Asiago, red Cheddar, Brie & Crackers)

And the fantastic cherry chocolate brownie. Interestingly, this was the exact same cake I had on PY a few months back, on the same route. While the PY cake was single-serve, the J version was the large-format cake cut and served by portions.

Nightcap?

Mid-flight, I decided to try to Hot sandwich - Chicken, pesto, mozzarella ciabatta. Bad idea. It was tasteless, tiny and sad looking. The crew who served it agreed...

On the other hand, the good old trusty Hot noodle soup, Shanghai vegetables, pork and shrimp wonton, gai-lan was just what the doctor ordered, and all was forgotten quickly.

OK, maybe I'll have a bite of that chocolatine. Warm and fluffy, very nice.

I did not partake, but here are some of the brunch offerings:
(Missing from the picture is the Assorted Dumplings plate).
