*FAQ:
Q: On the 787-9 (789), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Rows 5 and 8 on both port and starboard sides have only one window, instead of two on all other port/starboard J seats.

Q: On the 787-8 (788), which seats in J are missing windows?
A: Only row 5 port and starboard sides have zero windows.

Q: Does the middle J seats' middle divider come down?
A: No, on the 788 and 789 the middle divider does not come down and is fixed in place. In fact, all Dream Cabin (788, 789, 77L, 77W) middle dividers are fixed and do not come down.

Thanks for your insights!

That is not true! AC received eight 788 now, and there should be another seven to be delivered. This will make a total of 15 787-8 aircrafts. There are 22 787-9 on top of it.

AC has exercised their option to convert them to 787-9.

No, they converted their 788 orders to 789s a while ago.

I wonder if we will ever see some 9's replacing the 330's on the YUL routes.

Yes.

I suspect that eventually all 330's will be replaced by 787's - once options are exercised - but the 330 is a pretty efficient aircraft for +/- 4,000 mile routes.

330s will be the last ones to go and now that there isn't any 767 ML traffic out of YUL (save for a seasonal YUL-CDG add on), but guess is it won't be for a while. Possibly when more are in the fleet, some if the 777s could get replaced by a 787-9.

The cherry on the sundae: I see YYC getting 787 love before YUL. BA & RJ are giving YUL love. Apparently AC has forgotten its roots and now hates YUL.

I'm still waiting for YYZ IST to get converted from the 763. Would figure this would be high on the list as it's the longest Europe route.

+1 .. i do this route 5-6 times a yr. between crappy old AC 767's and TK's 2x3x2 J class, the options are great. at least TK has better food, and dare I say, eye candy.

Agreed. Its definitely a potential route... but its like turning the knife in the wound for us persons in YUL....sigh.

I don't know what you're complaining about. The 767 and A330 service you have in YUL is a god-send. Maybe you are one of the few that flies paid-J all the time, but if there is a chance you will be stuck in Y, those two aircraft are the best.

I've stopped flying AC TPAC when my project budget stipulates I book Y. It is not worth the risk of being stuck on the HD or the 787.

Almost at MarcoPolo Diamond, and although I honestly prefer AC (I'm in the minority, I know), I just don't fit in the new Y cabins.

Oops...I am still quoting enRoute data sources....they still list 15 aircrafts for 788 and 22 for 789 in this June's issue.

What happened with our big project of making Montral a gateway to Europe?

Oh yeah. We scrapped that and made malls instead.

I do see YUL as having a potentially more sensitive market price-wise, so I guess I should look at the future in HD and less time dreaming. Pun absolutely intended.

Coincidence AC announce this a couple days before WS announce LGW?
Not sure if WS will fly to LGW from YYC or YYZ (or both) . . . Cheapo fares to London on the horizon. WS better be willing to bleed a little before things heal. They're going to get crushed IMO
