Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? NA.
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? Delay, blamed on issue with YVR baggage system, but since many of us connecting were late suspect it was due to that

Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes.
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? No further updates after first announcement, about 25 minute delay
Was the IFE activated on the ground? Yes
Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service/Onboard cafe to begin? About 25 min, no food though, - hungry 6 year old
How was the quality of the meal/Onboard cafe? Not applicable.
Did the cabin crew offer water regularly throughout the flight? No.

Overall experience/any other comments:
Issue with eUpgrade, was confirmed but arrived at gate agent had no clue, and said we were still in Y and that there was no record of eUpgrade. On plane 6 of the 9 J seats occupied by deadheading crew! AC Reservation investigating, they are great!

Was check in quick and efficient? Yes, did it on line. Had skis and boots. Agent pointed out they count as one item, so I did not need to use up one of my allowable items. On 02, ANA in NRT is the gold standard on how things should be done.


Did you use priority security: No there was no line.

Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? Yes. It was fine, did not have much to eat.
Used the RCC at NRT on the way back to grab some wi-fi, and a drink before boarding.


Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient?
Yes both ways.


If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? Delay on the ground at NRT, pilot made timely and informative announcements.

Onboard - J cabin:

Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes they were fantastic on both legs.

Was the IFE activated on the ground? Yes, though on 02 the system had to be re-set twice.

Was a pre-departure beverage offered on the ground? Yes.

Did crew offer to hang your jacket? No, but there was lots of overhead space so it was fine.

Were newspapers & menus distributed and meal orders taken (Please specify when meal orders were taken - on the ground or in the air)? Orders were taken in the air on 01, though menus were handed out before. On 02 orders were taken on the ground during the hold.

Did crew offer a hot towel prior to the meal service? Yes

Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service to be completed?

Couple of hours I did not pay attention, as the timing worked fine for me.

How was the quality of all the meals?
I had Kosher and it sucked. Really need to put the boots to the supplier here. The selection, over cooked beef stew, and rice came across as cheep. Also in a time when people are looking for healthy choices, this was anything but. Slathered in an un-remarkable sauce, and too much of that, it was uninspiring. I doubt AC is getting any value for their money here. On 02 they loaded an economy meal for me in J. I had the fish off the main menu and it was very good. The kosher breakfast, had grey eggs, from being frozen and re heated, a few half button mushrooms, and two shrivelled cherry tomatoes. They called it an omelette.

Did the cabin crew continiously top up the beverage of your choice throughout the flight? Yes, they were very attentive.

If you have checked baggage, did it arrive within reasonable period of time?
In NRT it beat me to the carrousel. Priority bags were all there before we cleared immigration.

At YYZ we waited for 45 minutes and they all came together. Priority and non. Skis took another 15 minutes.


Overall experience/any other comments.

Thought AC did a very good job in the air. Travel experience was positive.

Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? N/A, used the TG lounge in HKG; IMO, the SQ lounge in HKG is preferable, but this was closer.
Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Yes, however somehow AC*G was not printed on my boarding pass, so had to dig out card.
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? No real delay.

Onboard - Y cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? Sure.
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? No noticeable delay after boarding.
Was the IFE activated on the ground? Yes
Approximately how long after take off did it take for the first meal service/Onboard cafe to begin? Not sure, had a nap before service.
How was the quality of the meal/Onboard cafe? Edible, but nothing beyond that.
Did the cabin crew offer water regularly throughout the flight? Yes.

Was unable to get on the upgrade waitlist (will be the subject of a rant elsewhere). Y almost completely full. Again, suffers in comparison to SQ Y (flown immediately beforehand) - soft product, even in Y, far superior on SQ.

Apart from luggage claim, no real issues - standard short-hop flight.

Was check in quick and efficient? No. I was kicked out of the priority check-in line and had to be embarrassingly escorted to the regular line. The issue is not whether I had status, but apparently, rules at SEA changed so that AC pax can no longer use priority check-in. :mad:

Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Only 2 people in priority boarding, so very efficient.

Were the crew professional & well groomed? QK crew, great positive attitude which I am used to seeing on QK.

First flight on QK in a while, only 2nd domestic AC flight in the last 4 months.

Quick to check-in to lounge, very friendly staff who looked more than happy to chat with passengers and keep the place clean. Asked if I could standby on an earlier flight (sometimes allowed on YEG-YYC) but told no. No complaints, I was on a Tango fare and agents were cooperative with my request. I would rate service 9/10. Coors Light was the only beer available. That warrants a 1/10 for drinks from me. :td:

I really wanted to wean myself from my dependence on AC/QK for domestic Canada flights but the overall YEG-YYC experience reinforced to me that AC is actually pretty good domestically. YEG is great, I always have a positive experience there; I wish every airport in Canada was more like YEG.

what's your status (does E/P mean you dropped from Elite to Prestige)? Priority check-in and boarding is a Star Gold benefit and should be honored by UA
haven't flown from SEA but i'm sure you could complain to the relevant authorities regarding not having *G benefits honored

Fine, but started late. Staff kept priority checkin which I appreciated.

Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient? Nexus + security, lightning fast. However, can we have just one security check in future rather than two? There was no substantial difference from my point of view, just that I did it twice.

Did you use the Maple Leaf lounge and if so, any feedback in regards to service, food and drinks? Yes, in YYZ for the US departure and houmus was very welcome. Quick check-in to lounge, very friendly staff who looked more than happy to chat with passengers and keep the place clean. BV Coastal Estates wine was a welcome choice as well.

Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient? Yes, line was clear though I showed up after main boarding had begun.
If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? N/A - I was in the lounge and the desk agent told me that the plane was pulling up late.

I know it's only a 55 minute flight but the 'real food' snack option wasn't offered, only a muffin or banana bread (i.e. fat + sugar), which I'm not eating and is deeply disappointing. I had a four hour stop in Toronto (thanks to AeroplanAirCanada!) and even though I'm in business class there is no food provision during the whole six to eight hour trip. My feeling is that this is not business class service (seriously, a muffin??) or worth the ticket premium whether points or cash.

Flight was fine, crew was very good, but the lack of real food for a total six to eight-hour trip makes it overall a negative experience. I'm flying business class and yet eating an airport meal at my own expense; I should not feel the need to consider bringing a brown-bag when booking business class. I asked the SE Concierge in YYZ (David S.) about this and got the distinct feeling that I am a whiner in his response.

35min after landing. When arrived at the conveyor, they were announcing the delivery of bags from TWO 77W (Hongkong and ours) at the same conveyor, there was already a huge Hongkong PAX crowd waiting.
I went to the baggage desk to point this out and they changed the conveyor. They should realize this themselves -- and 35 is too long IMO.

Overall experience/any other comments

As mentioned, excellent SD, was very attentive, delivered drinks personally, asked for additional wishes etc. Had a nice chat with her at the galley, she was interested in what I was doing (in a friendly, non-intrusive way) -- I filled out a "Air smiles" form since I was very satisfied. Most of the FAs were very pleasant as well.

Yes -- connected from AC877 (FRA-YYZ), was originally booked on AC151 (YYZ-YVR, 3 hours later), but AC877 arrived early and agent agreed to put me onto the earlier AC33, arrived home 3 hours earlier, great!

Did you use priority security (if eligible) and if so, was it quick and efficient?

Priority security closes at 6:30pm -- pity, there was a long line, it was pretty tight at the end. Why closing at 6:30 pm, if there are still plenty of pax?

Was priority boarding offered (if applicable to your status) and efficient?

Yes.

If there was a delay, did the gate agent provide timely updates? N/A.


Onboard - Y cabin:
Were the crew professional & well groomed? Yes.
If there was a delay, were you provided with timely updates? Small delay, good update.
Was the IFE activated on the ground? No, only at push back, when it was useless since we first had to endure the usual safety video.

25min, acceptable; despite priority tag, baggage arrived later with the other bags.

Pretty normal flight, FAs "reasonably friendly" to "very friendly", despite the late hour, no grumpy faces and committed to help passengers finding space in the overhead bins. I was pretty satisfied.

Status: AC*SE and AC*E

Priority Boarding: GA announced that they would priority board SE and Business Class first, then E, then call by rows. They did enforce this, asking each passenger as boarding pass was presented.

This is the first time I've experienced this modified boarding procedure.
