ITA Matrix Search: http://matrix.itasoftware.com

You can sometimes see flights, fares and detailed fare rules that may not be reflected on an airline's website. Please read the thread for some tips and tricks, screen shots, etc.

A related thread, ITA-Matrix-PowerTools - Userscript for Orbitz/DL/UA/AA/BA/CZ/IB/LA/LH/LX/TK, discusses a user script which is maintained by fellow flyertalk members to enhance the already powerful Matrix of ITA Software by providing new features and booking links.

Additional details and tips on the use of ITA's advanced routing code feature can be found in the following long-standing Mileage Run Discussion threads:

I have yet another wonderful fare and flight combination supplied by ITA, but I can't find ANYWHERE to book it:

Business class fare, prices out to $3225.40. I want to book two tickets:
10/23 LAX-ZRH-MUC-TBS on UA9729, LH2371, LH2556
10/29 TBS-MUC-FRA-SEA-LAX on LH2557, LH95, LH490, UA5611 (or ANY other last flight)

I have tried to find the exact fares on United, Lufthansa, Expedia, Travelocity, and Orbitz, and have called Expedia, IFlyBusiness, and AlphaFlightGuru. Can't find anyone who can stick in the exact flights - they all seem to want to select alternates, and these flights are important to me.

Can ANYONE help me figure out how to get these exact flights booked? If I don't take the UA codeshare on the outbound, the ticket price doubles. If I don't take the flight thru SEA on the return, I don't get a great benefit to me.

Can anyone help?

Use Priceline
*fare gone*

Or if you want to book with UA (itinerary comes up.. so it should work) use this tool
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...serscript.html

p.s. You could could stay a night in SEA as well and take UA6371 the next day.

I have been working on this for days, and just cannot figure out how to find this fare, so figured I would take a stab on FT...

The routing is CMB-(MLE)-IST-JFK. Departing 29 May 2016 completely on Turkish Airlines

ITA is finding a fare in Sri Lankan Rupee of 185,962 and has shown available for weeks on ITA

Turkish won't even quote the fare in Rupee, will only quote in USD and can't find the lowest fare on this routing. I have called a few times.

I have checked every OTA I can find, but no one can find this damn fare. The only odd fare rule I see is "Must be ticketed in Sri Lanka", but Turkish won't even do that for me.

Any ideas on this??? Appreciate any help.

Steppo's advice is very sound, although it looks like you will now need to book UA8717 codeshare instead of LH490 on the FRA-SEA segment to get the price you want on United and Priceline (PL also hits you for a small additional, $7 multi-carrier ticketing fee). Good luck.

You may be stuck buying in USD. I saw your preferred itinerary on Orbitz for US$1460/person, but the price seems to have climbed now to ~US$2100/person. The lower fare now requires a 13hr layover in IST.

In addition, TK is selling the 13hr layover itinerary on its website (set for Sri Lanka) for US$1414/person, which is the USD equivalent of the ITA fare you saw. It is also selling your preferred itinerary for US$2039/person.

By the time I posted the link, the price was available on PL. Gone now.. Maybe 925 booked?

Thanks for looking at it, I have gone through all of these as well, and I am just trying to find the fare priced in the local currency.

I also came across another FT thread saying TK fares are often not matching ITA which is probably the problem here.

The whole thing is just odd. I am able to price out the shorter layover leg by leg on the turkish website to $1414, but then they try to charge me $125 in booking fees, which they don't do on the 13 hour layover fare.

I think I am just giving up and booking a Qatar flight.

Again, thanks for your help.

Anyone else having the QPX issue? I had problems on my work PC, now I'm having problems on my macbook. Getting either internal server error, or QPX capacity exceeded.

I thought maybe it had something to do with how many criteria I was using, so I really stripped down my search but still had the same thing.

Yeah I'm seeing the QPX capacity exceeded issue, probably since around 9pm.
