NokScoot is banking on China to get its growth plan, stalled by Thailand's aviation safety fiasco, back on track. The long-haul low-cost carrier has up to six Chinese cities on its radar screen, Patee...

So instead of looking at the safety issues, enterprising Thai industry is courting customers with lower safety standards.

I used to do a similar thing when I was younger; ask the prettiest girl to dance and work my way down the attractivity index until I found one that said yes.... usually matching my rank as a 2, but I digress.

Chaos at Don Muang airport as Nok Air’s computer crash strands passengers for hours

Don Muang international airport turned chaotic early this morning when hundreds of passengers could not check in for their morning flights of Nok Air after its computer crashed.

The crash caused the airline’s all flights which were scheduled to depart the airport from 6.00-8.00 am to be stranded and could not take off, causing its passengers to complain of the delays.

Passenger queues waiting for turns to check in at Nok Air counters since 4 am stretched longer and longer and later obstructed traffic inside the airport.

Airport safety in Thailand raised to level 3

BANGKOK, 18 August 2015 (NNT)-The Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) has raised airport safety levels to level 3 for its 28 airports across the country, following the bomb attack in the heart of Bangkok last night.

According to DCA Director General Parichart Kotcharat, a high level of security at 28 airports is now being carried out rigorously to assure safety for passengers and those visiting the airport.

Stricter passenger and luggage search for any forbidden items and weapons as well as a thorough x-ray scan within the airport terminal have already been enforced.

Level 3, out of 4, is said to have been the highest level of safety ever implemented at the airport. Airport officials are expected to be monitoring surveillance cameras around the clock for any suspicious people or activities.

Soldiers and police have been coordinated to safeguard the airports.

There was a report that the Region 1 Army "poster" was accidently released with Dzhokhar Tsarnaev's head photo-shopped on to it, and blurred.

That poster can be viewed here:

This, among many other 'clues', points to an internal military faction/conflict.

BBC TV just reported that, according to Reuters ( ) at least 10 people were involved and this was planned for a month.

I've no idea where these reports are being disseminated from.

This year's round up: It's OK to bring a pistol you "forgot about" and fly to Japan but it's not OK to possess a bullet proof vest. Got it.
