Anyone has an update on the latest transfer time frame? I hoping that they are still doing Wed sweep.

Sometimes, the AA agent can get special dispensation from AAvantage Customer Service to let you go negative, e.g., if they can see a transaction that may take a few days to post. I know they sometimes do this with purchased/shared miles.

A little OT! I was wondering how often SPG > AA Bonus transfers (increased rates) come around?

Thanks

In a blue moon and month of Sundays

I recall one promo in the past 3-4 years, IIRC it was a 35% bonus

Data point: requested transfer from Starwood last Tuesday July 3 around 3pm NY time, points arrived in my AA account this morning around 8am NY time. Unfortunately don't know whether they missed last Wednesday's window because of the 4th of July holiday or because Tue 3pm was past the window for the week, but fortunately the award seat I was going for is still available.

Another data point: transfer requested Tuesday, September 4th at 15:09:36 GMT (that's 11:09:36 EDT). Posted to AA account today (Wednesday, September 12th).

This confirms that transfers happen on Wednesdays, however the previous data points are not consistent with a strict "every other week". There might just be a cut-off at some time on Monday or Tuesday that decides whether you'll qualify for the next Wednesday or the one after. YMMV.

Jacques.

One batch will do it. You get the 5k bonus per 20k in the batch. It confirms this before you finalize the transfer.

Ok, I can now follow up with my own data. I waited until Friday to put an AA award on hold so that they would hold it on Wednesday midnight because most places I read that points will be in your account on Wednesday morning. I did 3 transfers of 60k each on April 24, 25, and 26. All 3 transfers hit my account together this morning (April 29). I did another 40k, yesterday April 28, but that one isn't there yet.

ETA: The 40k transfer I requested on Sunday April 28 hit my account this morning on May 1.

Thans for the report. Just transferred some miles myself and am glad to hear it isn't taking the 2-4 weeks indicated by the SPG website.
