Just adding another data point. Made transfers on a Thursday and Friday. Both transfers posted Wednesday morning.

After maxing out my limit for purchased miles on AA, I will need to buy SPG points, and transfer them to AA in the shortest possible time frame.

Is it possible to execute both transactions within AA's time limit for placing an award itinerary on hold?

Based on my calculations, it seems that SPG points purchased on a Sunday would hit my SPG account in time to be transfered to my AA account on a Wednesday (three days later). Is it a relatively safe assumption that this will be the case?

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Some posts going back a few years indicate that you can "rush" the transfer for 3K points or so but I haven't seen anything recent related to this. Does anyone know if this is still an option with SPG?

I don't think they always post on Wednesday. My transfer from Monday morning didn't post today 8/17.

I transferred on SEP 27. Showed up today. So it seems like SPG sends them in bi-weekly batches.

One more data point. I made two transfers, one on September 30 (Friday), and one on October 3 (Monday). Both posted at some point between last night October 5 (Wednesday) and this morning, October 6.

I made a transfer on Tuesday night, received an email from Starwood about 10 AM Wednesday that the transfer was successful. How long for them to show up on AA? (I have some awards expiring Sunday 11:59 PM)

The recent information seems to show this happens on Wednesday night, every 2 weeks.

If this is the case, the next batch would post on the 16th of Nov and then the 30th. But it seems to spill into the next day. Which means that for AA Million Miler, the 30th could become the 1st and miss the cutoff- making this Tues the deadline.

Am I doing the math on this correctly?

I'm pretty sure AA will use the activity date, and not the post date, for this calculation. So if you transfer by 11/30, you should be OK. Of course, there's no reason not to transfer earlier, like now, just to be sure.

You mean if I transfer on the 25th it would post on the 30th regardless of whether it appears in the AA account on the 30th or 1st?

My AA account has my middle initial and a suffix on it, but my SPG account does not. Is this likely to cause a rejection?
