It can take up to 7 business days from the day you qualified for your Lifetime Platinum status to be picked up by the system.

Q : What will happen to my Lifetime Status when the programs merge together in the future?
A : Rest assured we will always recognize your Lifetime Status, whether it is today in your earned program or in the future with a new, combined program.

I just earned my lifetime platinum right before NYE this past year. Still don't have my fancy card, but I'm sure it's on the way.
Anyway, I was chatting with a guy at the front desk of a W and he thought the "Lifetime Platinum" status was really just 10 years of guaranteed Platinum status. I don't see anything online that says that, so I thought I'd ask here. Anyone else hear that?

I think he's confused that it takes 10 years of Platinum status plus 500 elite qualifying nights to earn Lifetime Platinum. Lifetime Platinum is just that: For the lifetime of the member who earns it.
With regard to your metal card, if you are based in North America, it is probably already in production. If you are based outside North America, you need to verify your mailing address before the card is produced. It can take up to 8 weeks for delivery.

What I haven't seen directly addressed is if you must keep your account active (i.e. yearly activity). But with CC spend and shopping being able to do that, I don't see it as a show stopper.

Or, as some of us with "Lifetime" status in a different FF program have learned to our cost : "For the lifetime of the member who earns it, or For the lifetime of the program, whichever ends first".

Fortunately, the hotel franchise scheme is more stable than the heavily leveraged airline balance sheet scheme.

Metal card arrived yesterday! Ten years of my sad life boiled down to a credit card sized piece of tin. Somehow it seems anti-climactic.

As someone who earned LT Plat based on leisure stays since I first joined FT back in 2001, the way I see it is that I don't need to stress about trying to close the gap at the end of the year. Initially when I joined FT I was taking more weekend trips so getting the 25 stays wasn't an issue, but as the years passed I took less weekend domestic trips and replaced them with longer international trips which impacted the number of stays I had each year.

I haven't even carried a card in years. I put this one in my wallet, but I don't think it's gonna stay there. It'll set off the metal detectors at the airport precheck zone!!

But no, it's a bit heavy to carry around in your wallet. Especially if you already have a titanium credit card. So maybe keep it in your laptop bag or something.

Perhaps you don't have to show it anymore, but it can help with upgrades when you do show it. At certain hotels I'll whip it out and sometimes it works a charm. At the W Barcelona for instance they had never seen the lifetime card before and it led to a discussion that lead to a 4 category upgrade for me and my family. I wouldn't try that at an average US Sheraton, but some places it can be a good idea.

Just crossed 400 nights.
Only 100 to go.
So does the new website no longer show number of years for Elite status? I can see number of nights but not number of years.
